McDonald’s Japan reveals Crayon Shin-chan Happy Meal toys

McDonald’s Japan has revealed the toy lineup for their upcoming Happy Meal collaboration with the iconic anime series “Crayon Shin-chan”.
The “Crayon Shin-chan” Happy Meals will be available for a limited time, starting June 13th.
Available nationwide at participating McDonald’s restaurants, the Happy Meals will start from ¥490, with prices potentially varying at some locations and for delivery orders.
Crayon Shin-chan is a long-running and popular Japanese manga and anime series that follows the daily adventures of five-year-old Shinnosuke “Shin” Nohara and his family and friends.

Known for its distinct humor and memorable characters, the series has a broad appeal across generations in Japan and beyond.
The “Crayon Shin-chan” Happy Meal lineup will include six different toys, all themed around the world of the anime.
These toys will feature familiar characters such as Buriburi Zaemon (the talking pig hero) and Chocobi (Shin-chan’s favorite snack), along with Shin-chan himself dressed as various personas like Action Kamen (Action Mask) and Waniyama-san (Mr. Crocodile).

All six toys are designed to be interactive and suitable for competitive play with friends and family.
For example, “Shiro and Heading Battle” allows players to compete by hitting a ball with rackets featuring Shin-chan and Shiro’s faces.
“Butt-to-Butt Buriburi Table Hockey” utilizes the characters’ rear ends to propel a puck in a table hockey game.

Toys like “Action Beam! Disc Launcher” and “Pop-out! Shiro Shin-chan” allow users to test their finger strength by launching discs or figures to see who can achieve the greatest distance.
In addition to the physical toys, customers can unlock a Happy Meal exclusive augmented reality (AR) racing game called “Race Time! Toy Car Race.”
By scanning the Crayon Shin-chan toys with a smartphone, the toys will transform into vehicle-like forms within the game.

The game, available from June 13th to July 31st, offers both easy and difficult courses, and a two-player versus mode, allowing friends and family to compete.
The Happy Meal release will occur in three phases:
- Phase 1: June 13th (Friday) – June 19th (Thursday)
- Action Beam! Disc Launcher

- Shiro and Heading Battle

- Buriburi Zaemon Sword Fighting Game

A game where players set panels with Shin-chan and Buriburi Zaemon on a base, then press a button to tilt the panel forward, aiming to knock over the opponent’s panel.
- Phase 2: June 20th (Friday) – June 26th (Thursday)
- Butt-to-Butt Buriburi Table Hockey

A table hockey game using Shin-chan and Buriburi Zaemon’s rear ends to hit the puck.

- Phase 3: Beginning June 27th (Friday)
- Customers will receive one toy randomly selected from the full collection of six toys released in Phase 1 and 2. Depending on stock availability, toys from past Happy Meal promotions may also be included.
