Limited Edition Xbox 25th Anniversary Console and Controller Unveiled

Microsoft officially announced the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition console and the Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition during the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7, 2026.

These new hardware releases celebrate the 25th anniversary of the original Xbox, which first debuted on November 15, 2001.

The commemorative console features a translucent OG Green chassis, marking the first time a transparent design has been applied to the Series X lineup.

Internal specifications for the limited unit include 1TB of storage, mirroring the performance capabilities of the standard Series X.

Visual tributes to the brand’s history include a dedicated 25th anniversary logo on the front plate and a power button that glows green to mimic the original startup sequence.

The matching Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition also utilizes the translucent green finish and incorporates nostalgic details.

The controller face buttons use the original color palette, while the bumpers are designed to reference the black and white buttons found on the original Duke controller.

A fully transparent back case and battery door on the peripheral reveal a classic Xbox logo.

Microsoft has scheduled the launch of the console and controller bundle for November 2026 in select markets.

While the controller will be available as a standalone purchase starting in October 2026, official pricing for the collection has not yet been confirmed.
