Capcom has revealed two new life-size Monster Hunter statues recreating Rathalos and Lagiacrus, with both monsters set to appear together in a new waterfront display enhanced by lighting, sound, and mist effects.
The statues will bring the series’ “King of the Skies” and “King of the Seas” to Harbor Park at Mitsui Outlet Park Fukuoka Marinoa, becoming the first two giant Monster Hunter statues installed in Japan’s Kyushu region and a planned new landmark for the complex.
Concept artwork shows Rathalos positioned above the display with its wings spread while Lagiacrus stretches across the lower section, placing the airborne Flying Wyvern and aquatic Leviathan together against Harbor Park’s open view of the sea.
Their exact dimensions have not yet been announced, although both are officially described as life-size recreations and Capcom says the surrounding light, sound and mist effects are intended to add to their presence when viewed in person.
Mitsui Outlet Park Fukuoka Marinoa is being developed on the former site of Marinoa City Fukuoka and will contain around 220 stores, split between an outdoor Outlet Building with roughly 170 shops and an indoor Harbor Building focused on food, retail and other facilities.
The Monster Hunter statues will stand in the adjoining Harbor Park, an outdoor seaside area that will also include an event stage and all-weather BBQ venue, with the monsters forming one of the main entertainment elements planned for the new development.
Rathalos has been one of Monster Hunter’s signature monsters since appearing in the original game in 2004, with its fire breath, poisonous claws, and aerial attacks establishing the Flying Wyvern as the franchise’s long-running “King of the Skies”.
The monster has remained heavily represented across newer Monster Hunter releases and merchandise, including Good Smile Company’s first Rathalos Nendoroid and Bandai’s articulated model kit based on the Rathalos armor from Monster Hunter Wilds.
Lagiacrus debuted as the flagship monster of Monster Hunter Tri in 2009, establishing the electricity-wielding Leviathan as the series’ “King of the Seas” and one of its best-known monsters associated with underwater environments.
It returned to the main series in Monster Hunter Wilds through the game’s second free title update, which introduced a new Lagiacrus hunt and a special underwater sequence before moving the battle back onto land.
Rathalos and Lagiacrus have also recently appeared together in the Monster Hunter Wilds Night Canvas drone show, where both monsters form part of the large aerial performance alongside Wilds flagship Arkveld.

Rathalos and Lagiacrus will be installed at Harbor Park when Mitsui Outlet Park Fukuoka Marinoa opens in April 2027, with the complex located in Fukuoka’s Nishi Ward on the former Marinoa City Fukuoka site.
Further details about the statues, including their exact dimensions and how the lighting, sound, and mist effects will be used around the finished display, have not yet been announced.
