Monster Hunter Fully Reveals Its New Rathalos Armor Model Kit as Pre-Orders Open
Pre-orders have officially opened for Bandai’s new “30MF Monster Hunter Wilds Rathalos Equipment” model kit, offering fans an articulated recreation of one of the series’ most recognizable armor sets.
Bandai has also revealed a new collection of product images showing off the model kit, including its enormous Great Sword and the smaller equipment details worked throughout the armor.
The kit was originally announced earlier this week and is part of the first line of crossover products created for Bandai’s 30 MINUTES FANTASY series.
30 MINUTES FANTASY is built around highly articulated humanoid characters whose armor, weapons and other equipment can be exchanged through standardized connection points, making Monster Hunter’s equipment system a particularly natural fit for the range.
Rathalos has appeared throughout the Monster Hunter series as the “King of the Skies,” with its crimson scales, powerful wings and fire attacks helping establish it as one of the franchise’s defining monsters.
Armor created from Rathalos materials carries many of those visual characteristics, and Bandai has recreated the familiar red and black equipment using completely new molded parts.
The armor combines irregular scale-like surfaces and spikes with smaller mechanical details, including rivets across the metallic sections and a Scoutfly Cage hanging from the hunter’s belt.
Bandai has also recreated the Slinger attached to the left arm, with an articulated mechanism allowing it to be displayed in its deployed configuration rather than remaining permanently fixed against the armor.
The included Rathalos Great Sword is sculpted to preserve as much of the weapon’s organic, monster-derived appearance as possible, retaining its irregular shapes and imposing proportions in model kit form.
Despite the size of the sword and armor, the underlying 30MF body has been designed to retain a wide range of movement across the limbs, chest, waist and neck.
The newly revealed images show the hunter in running, kneeling and seated poses alongside several Great Sword attack stances, demonstrating how much movement remains available once the full Rathalos equipment is attached.
Numerous 3mm connection points and expansion-ring joints are also positioned across the body, allowing the armor to be removed, rearranged or combined with compatible parts from other 30 MINUTES FANTASY releases.
The Monster Hunter collaboration also includes the “Arkveld Equipment – Shuvalka Series” model kit, which recreates armor based on Monster Hunter Wilds’ flagship monster and includes the transforming Chainblade Axe Perceval Switch Axe.
The “30MF Monster Hunter Wilds Rathalos Equipment – Rathalos Series -” is priced at ¥4,950 (approx. $31 USD / £23 GBP), with pre-orders now open through reputable hobby goods retailers such as HobbyLink Japan.
The non-scale model kit is scheduled for release in March 2027.
