The LEGO Group has officially confirmed a long rumored partnership with The Pokémon Company by opening pre-orders for the first wave of LEGO Pokémon building sets.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the toy industry, as the construction toy license for the franchise has been held by competitor Mattel’s MEGA brand for several years.

This unveiling follows the recent announcement of the Pokémon Center’s new Pikachu’s Sweet Delivery merchandise line, representing a diverse start to the year for the franchise that ranges from high-end collectibles to seasonal lifestyle goods.

While the Sweet Delivery line focuses on accessible plush and confectionary items for Valentine’s Day, these new LEGO sets clearly target the adult collector market with their substantial size and premium pricing.

The flagship product of this launch is the massive “Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise” set, which features highly detailed brick-built versions of the fully evolved Kanto starters.

This set commands a price point comparable to LEGO’s renowned Ultimate Collector Series, suggesting an intricate build experience and a high piece count.

Customers who pre-order this specific set will receive a “Kanto Region Badge Collection” as a limited-time gift with purchase.
