Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 Debuts Special Opening Music Video
TOHO animation has released a special music video for lulu, which serves as the opening theme song for the second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.
The video features the track performed by the popular band Mrs. GREEN APPLE and incorporates anime footage starting from Episode 29 through the most recent Episode 36.
Mrs. GREEN APPLE released the digital single on January 12, 2026, marking the first commemorative track for the launch of their Phase 3 era in 2026.
The song has already achieved significant commercial success, ranking at the top of the Oricon weekly digital single charts and accumulating over 47 million views on YouTube.
The second season of the series features a change in leadership as Tomoya Kitagawa takes over directing duties from Season 1 director Keiichiro Saito.
The production remains at studio MADHOUSE with returning staff members, including series composer Tomohiro Suzuki, character designer Reiko Nagasawa, and composer Evan Call.
Based on the manga by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe, the story follows the elven mage Frieren as she navigates the world long after her party of heroes defeated the Demon King.
The anime continues to be available for streaming on Crunchyroll for audiences across North America, Europe, India, and several other global regions.
In addition to the opening theme promotion, a special music video for the ending theme song was previously shared on February 6, 2026, alongside new visual art for the series.
