The upcoming television anime adaptation Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia, known in Japan as Tenmaku no Jaadugar, has released its first main trailer and confirmed its primary voice cast.
The series is scheduled to premiere in Japan in July 2026.
The announced cast features Miyu Irino as Shira, Jun Saito as Muhammad, Akira Sekine as Shitara, Houko Kuwashima as Fatima, and Ryota Suzuki as Tolui.

The production has already gained international recognition by being selected for the TV Films competition category at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France, which runs from June 21, 2026, to June 27, 2026.
The anime is based on the original manga by Tomato Soup, which began serialization in September 2021 on Akita Shoten’s Souffle digital magazine and later moved to Mystery Bonita in March 2025.

Yen Press handles the English-language publication of the manga under the title A Witch’s Life in Mongol.
The adaptation is being produced at animation studio Science SARU with Naoko Yamada serving as executive director and Abel Gongora as director.

Additional staff include Kanichi Kato for series composition, Kenichi Yoshida for character designs and chief animation direction, and Koshiro Hino as the music composer.
Set in the 13th century, the story follows a young girl named Sitara who is sold into slavery in Iran before being taken in by a family of scholars.
The narrative explores how Sitara uses the power of knowledge to navigate the expansion of the Mongol Empire under Emperor Genghis Khan.
