Good Smile Company reveals new and improved MEIKO Nendoroid

Good Smile Company, a leading Japanese manufacturer of collectible figures, has confirmed the upcoming release of Nendoroid MEIKO 2.0.
The announcement was made during the company’s recent “NENDOROID FUNS” livestream event, which serves as a platform for revealing new Nendoroid products and updates.
MEIKO is a pioneering Vocaloid, a singing voice synthesizer software developed by Yamaha and distributed by Crypton Future Media.

Released in November 2004, she was the first Japanese Vocaloid to be commercially available, predating Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, and Kagamine Len.
Her release marked a significant step in the development of virtual singers and the broader Vocaloid phenomenon, which has since grown into a global cultural movement encompassing music production, live concerts, and extensive merchandise.
MEIKO’s distinct vocal range and versatile appeal have cemented her place as an enduring figure within the Vocaloid community.
The “Nendoroid 2.0” designation from Good Smile Company typically signifies a significant upgrade over a character’s original Nendoroid release.

These updated versions often feature improved sculpting, enhanced articulation for a wider range of poses, and a more comprehensive set of accessories, reflecting advancements in figure technology and production.
This re-release indicates a commitment to offering collectors a refined version of this foundational Vocaloid character.
While comprehensive details regarding the specific accessories, interchangeable parts, pricing, and official release date for Nendoroid MEIKO 2.0 are yet to be fully disclosed, the announcement from the “NENDOROID FUNS” event indicates that more information will be revealed soon.
