Steins;Gate’s New Official Anniversary Sake Collection Features Okabe, Kurisu, Mayuri and Suzuha

Steins;Gate Anniversary Sake Collection 1

Steins;Gate is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a collection of original sake inspired by Rintaro Okabe, Kurisu Makise, Mayuri Shiina and Suzuha Amane.

Based on the science adventure visual novel of the same name, the Steins;Gate anime follows self-proclaimed mad scientist Rintaro Okabe and his friends after they accidentally develop a way to send messages into the past, leaving Okabe to confront the devastating consequences of altering different world lines.

The collaboration comes from HINEMOS, a Japanese sake brand founded in 2019 around the concept of time, with its regular releases named after hours of the day such as SHICHIJI and HACHIJI.

That focus makes the brand a natural match for Steins;Gate, where changing the past, moving between world lines and fighting to reach a better future are central to the story.

Released under the name “Steins;Gate -Divergence Brew-“, the four drinks have been developed specifically for the collaboration rather than adapting sake already available in the HINEMOS range.

Each bottle uses screen printing to place its artwork directly onto the glass instead of relying on a conventional adhesive label, allowing the design to remain intact after the bottle has been emptied and washed.

This means the character bottles can be kept as decorative items or repurposed as vases once the sake has been enjoyed.

HINEMOS has previously explored game-inspired sake through collaborations with Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Royal, followed by a Persona 5: The Phantom X tasting set featuring bottles based on Wonder, Phoebe, and Joker alongside Wonder.

Its direct and structured flavor represents Okabe’s refusal to surrender when faced with seemingly impossible circumstances, while a fruity aroma reflects the more complicated personality hidden beneath his eccentric Hououin Kyouma persona.

Steins;Gate -Divergence Brew- 0.571046, priced at ¥6,600 (approx. $40 USD / £30 GBP), draws upon Kurisu Makise with a sweet red sake containing 8% alcohol.
