Dragon Ball Returns to the Red Ribbon Army Saga for New Ichiban Kuji EX Lottery

Bandai has officially launched a new Ichiban Kuji lottery that brings the classic Red Ribbon Army storyline from Dragon Ball back into focus with a newly released lineup of collectible prizes.
Ichiban Kuji is a popular Japanese lottery-style product line where every ticket guarantees a prize, with participants drawing at random for a chance to win a range of items that typically include high-end figures, smaller collectibles and themed merchandise.

“Ichiban Kuji Dragon Ball EX Showdown! Red Ribbon Army” is part of the nostalgic Dragon Ball EX series, which highlights memorable scenes and characters from the original Dragon Ball through a mix of premium figures and themed merchandise.
Dragon Ball, first introduced in 1984, follows Son Goku on his journey to gather the mystical Dragon Balls while encountering allies and enemies across a wide-ranging adventure.

Among its most iconic arcs is the Red Ribbon Army saga, where Goku faces off against a powerful military organization seeking to claim the Dragon Balls for its own purposes.

This newly released Ichiban Kuji lineup recreates that storyline through a selection of MASTERLISE figures and supporting items that capture both action-packed and emotional moments from the arc.

Prize A features a MASTERLISE figure of Son Goku standing approximately 13.5 cm tall, depicting him charging forward in his rare winter outfit as he takes on Muscle Tower.

Prize B introduces Ninja Murasaki in MASTERLISE form for the first time, with the approximately 25 cm tall figure emphasizing his exaggerated personality through expressive sculpting and a carefully posed stance.

Prize C presents General Blue as an approximately 21 cm tall MASTERLISE figure, capturing his composed demeanor and overwhelming confidence as seen during his encounters with Krillin and the others.

Prize D offers a detailed submarine diorama measuring approximately 16 cm tall, recreating the scene where Goku, Bulma and Krillin escape a collapsing underwater cave, complete with clear effect parts that convey the speed and urgency of the moment.

Prize E expands the lineup with the DRAGON ARCHIVES series, featuring four possible miniature figures that include Son Goku, General White, Mercenary Tao and a Red Ribbon Army capsule robot, each presented with a display base and quote-style design elements.

Prize F includes a collection of six selectable Dragon Ball acrylic stand displays, each based on memorable illustrations and scenes from the series that fans will instantly recognize.

Prize G provides a range of six stationery sets designed for everyday use, with each option including either an A4 clear file with a special visual effect that changes when paper is inserted, a pair of character stickers, or a pop-up memo pad.

Prize H features six selectable jacquard towels made from soft fabric, each designed with colorful patterns that match the included character tags.

Prize I completes the standard prize lineup with six visual sheets that recreate well-known illustrations, humorous moments and background designs that can be displayed alongside figures for added presentation value.

The Last One Prize is awarded to the participant who draws the final ticket and consists of an approximately 25 cm tall MASTERLISE PLUS figure of Android 8 and Son Goku, recreating their touching snowy scene with additional effect parts that enhance the emotional atmosphere.

A Double Chance Campaign is also running alongside the release, giving participants the opportunity to win the same Android 8 and Son Goku MASTERLISE PLUS figure, with a total of 50 units available across both in-store and online entries during the campaign period which runs until the end of September 2026.

The lottery began rolling out in stores including convenience stores, bookstores, hobby shops, select drugstores and official Ichiban Kuji locations across Japan from June 13, 2026, with online sales launching from June 16, 2026 at 13:00, while each ticket is priced at ¥850 (approx. $6 USD / £4 GBP).
