Hatsune Miku’s New Official Mobile Game Opens for Pre-Registration Ahead of Fall Release
Image by Charlotte DavisPre-registration has officially opened for Hatsune Miku’s upcoming smartphone game, with Crypton Future Media also revealing considerably more about what fans can expect when the returning series launches this fall.
“Hatsune Miku Graphy Collection: Mystery Music Comet Re:Merge” marks the return of a mobile game series that has been absent for more than six years, with Hatsune Miku joined by Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO and KAITO for a completely new adventure.
The original Hatsune Miku Graphy Collection: Mystery Music Comet launched for Android and iOS in Japan in October 2014, combining character cards with RPG and music elements before ending service on June 30, 2020.
A Western version of that game was once planned but ultimately never released, making the newly announced Re:Merge a significant revival for fans who remember the original mobile title.
When Crypton first announced Re:Merge in July, relatively little was revealed beyond its six-character Piapro cast and planned fall release, but the latest update has now confirmed that it will take the form of a puzzle game built around traveling between different planets.
Its original story begins when a mysterious comet suddenly appears over the northern lands, causing the important “sounds” belonging to planets throughout space to break apart.
Miku, Rin, Len, Luka, MEIKO and KAITO consequently set out across the stars alongside a mysterious companion named Meropii, attempting to restore those lost sounds while helping the inhabitants they encounter along the way.
Individual planets will introduce their own residents and problems, with the Piapro Characters becoming involved in requests and unexpected trouble as their journey develops.
Progress is driven through puzzle stages in which players create items and use them to help the residents of each planet, while completing puzzles gradually restores the damaged sounds tied to the wider story.
Music will naturally play an important role, with Vocaloid producer Noboru↑ creating the new theme song “Mystery” specifically for the game.
The planets visited throughout the adventure will also feature their own completely original songs created by a wider selection of artists, giving players new music to discover as they progress through the story.
Collecting artwork forms another major part of Re:Merge, with completing puzzles rewarding players with illustration cards featuring the six Piapro Characters.
The cards have been created by numerous illustrators, including Kocha Majitaro, who also produced the game’s main visual showing Miku and the other Piapro Characters together against its colorful space-themed backdrop.
The latest reveal therefore gives Re:Merge a much clearer identity than when it was initially announced, combining a new story, puzzle gameplay, original music and collectible illustrations rather than simply recreating the structure of the discontinued 2014 game.
Crypton is also continuing to promote the game through Hatsune Miku Magical Mirai 2026, where visitors can receive a special sticker using the main visual by showing that they follow the official game account at the company’s Digital Contents Team booth.
The final Tokyo leg of that promotion will take place at Makuhari Messe from August 28 through August 30 as part of Magical Mirai 2026.
“Hatsune Miku Graphy Collection: Mystery Music Comet Re:Merge” will be free to download with optional in-app purchases when it launches for iOS and Android in fall 2026.
Pre-registration is available now through the App Store and Google Play, although Crypton currently plans to release the game exclusively in Japan and has not announced an international version.
A new trailer showcasing the game has also been uploaded to YouTube to celebrate the start of pre-registration.
