Orders Open as GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT’s First Gunpla Kit Gets Official Release Date

Bandai has officially confirmed the release date and opened pre-orders for the first Gunpla kit based on its upcoming Gundam action game, GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT.
The new “HG 1/144 Gundam Helix” recreates the ARK-10 Gundam Helix, the protagonist Mobile Suit piloted by RE-X in the upcoming game.

GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT is part of Gundam’s new RG Project, a multimedia initiative that connects the upcoming action game with the anime Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO through a shared universe and history.

Set approximately 100 years after the events of the anime, the game follows RE-X and his Haro companion Vee as they battle a mysterious silicon-based ecosystem known as the Apocalypse, which has forced humanity to abandon Earth.

The game features high-speed Mobile Suit combat alongside an extensive customization system that allows players to modify their machines with different weapons, equipment, and color schemes.
Bandai first revealed the Gundam Helix Gunpla kit in July 2026, before unveiling its first painted prototype alongside the Gundam ZERO during an official livestream in August.

The kit was subsequently displayed at October’s All Japan Model & Hobby Show, giving fans a closer look at its detailed mechanical design and articulation ahead of the official product announcement.
For the finished release, Bandai has recreated the Gundam Helix’s heavily detailed mechanical armour, with articulated sections throughout the body designed to reproduce the high-speed movements seen during gameplay.

The arms and lower legs also feature opening armour flaps, allowing the kit to recreate the machine’s deployable mechanical components.

A large sword and rifle are included as its primary weapons, both of which can be mounted on the backpack when not in use, with the sword also featuring a mechanism that allows it to switch between two different configurations.

Bandai has also designed the Gundam Helix to support interchangeable weapons and components from other GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT Gunpla kits, reflecting the game’s extensive Mobile Suit customization system.

The new kit joins an expanding lineup of models based on the game, with Bandai also having revealed High Grade kits of the Bau Bahlam and Calice, two additional Mobile Suits that will appear alongside the Gundam Helix.

The “HG 1/144 Gundam Helix” is now officially scheduled for release in January 2027, two months ahead of GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT’s worldwide launch on March 5, with a Japanese retail price of ¥2,750 (approximately $17 / £13).

Japanese hobby retailers began accepting pre-orders on October 15, 2026, with Bandai yet to confirm international release details through channels such as Premium Bandai US.
