Bungo Stray Dogs’ new school-themed alternate universe mobile game confirms its release date

A firm release date has been announced for the new, school-themed mobile game based on the hit anime Bungo Stray Dogs.
“Gakuen Bungo Stray Dogs”, which is described by its developer as a “youth adventure game,” is scheduled to launch on Thursday, the 6th of November, 2025.

Bungo Stray Dogs is a popular series that features a cast of characters named after famous literary authors, who use their supernatural abilities to solve crimes and battle other ability users.
This new spin-off game reimagines that world in a high school setting, with the characters engaging in a new, academic adventure.

To celebrate the release date announcement, the game’s opening movie has been premiered for the first time.
The new animation was produced by 10GAUGE, the same studio that has created many of the promotional videos for the main Bungo Stray Dogs anime series.

The opening features the game’s theme song, “Magatsu Yoru wa Ao Nari,” which is performed by the popular rock duo GRANRODEO.
A number of promotional campaigns are also underway to build anticipation for the launch.
An “Aptitude Test Campaign” is currently being held on the game’s official X account, which will help players determine which of the game’s four different schools is the best fit for them.

A daily countdown of new character promotional videos is also set to begin.

Starting from 5:00 PM Japan Standard Time on October 12, a new character trailer will be released each day until the game’s launch.
Pre-registration for the new game is currently open on both the App Store and Google Play, which will allow players to be notified as soon as the game is released.
Gakuen Bungo Stray Dogs is a free-to-play game with in-app purchases, and it will be available for iOS and Android devices.
