Bandai Fully Reveals New Gundam X HG Gundam Leopard Gunpla Kit Ahead of Release

Bandai Hobby has fully revealed the new HG 1/144 Gundam Leopard Gunpla kit, offering a closer look at its heavily armed design just days before release.
Gundam Leopard appears in After War Gundam X, the alternative-universe series that began airing in 1996 and follows Garrod Ran’s efforts to protect Tiffa Adill as the crew of the Freeden becomes caught between rival military powers and the mystery surrounding Newtypes.

The new Gunpla arrives during the anime’s 30th anniversary year, which has already seen the release of a new official art book and several merchandise and apparel collections, giving Gundam X fans another major release as Bandai continues revisiting the series and its mobile suit lineup.

Piloted by Roybea Loy, Gundam Leopard serves as the Freeden team’s heavy-firepower mobile suit, using an extensive collection of guns and missiles to provide overwhelming ranged support during battle.

This new release gives the original Gundam Leopard its first modern HG treatment, following the simpler 1/144 kit produced for the original Gundam X model line and the heavily modified Gundam Leopard da Vinci released through Gundam Build Fighters Try.

The kit preserves the mobile suit’s distinctive green, white and dark gray color scheme, with its bulky armor and weapons covering almost every section of the body to create one of Gundam X’s most recognizable silhouettes.

Its standout Inner Arm Gatling can transform between configurations, connect with the left arm, and accommodate the forearm inside the weapon to recreate Gundam Leopard’s distinctive firing position.

Opening sections across the chest reveal the Breast Gatling weapons, while the shoulder armor and legs feature movable hatches for exposing the Shoulder Missiles and Hornet Missiles stored throughout the mobile suit.

These deployment features allow the kit to recreate Gundam Leopard with its full arsenal exposed, giving the finished model plenty of visual impact without requiring additional weapon sets.

A Separate Missile Pod and Beam Knife are also included, with the latter able to complement the kit’s large ranged arsenal with a compact close-combat weapon.

The HG 1/144 Gundam Leopard is priced at ¥2,420 (approx. $16 USD / £11 GBP) and will be sold through general hobby goods retailers within Japan when it releases on August 8, 2026.

For international fans, the kit has previously been offered for sale via stores such as Premium Bandai US, and it will likely appear with retailers who import stock directly from Japan within the weeks after its release.
