STRICT G Launches New Retro-Style Gundam X 30th Anniversary Apparel Collection
A new apparel collection inspired by Mobile Suit Gundam X is on the way, bringing two fan-favorite mobile suits to a series of vintage-style graphic T-shirts created to commemorate the anime’s 30th anniversary.
The latest release comes from the STRICT-G.Fab fashion line and focuses on delivering a worn-in, retro aesthetic that resembles well-loved vintage clothing rather than conventional character merchandise.
First broadcast in 1996, Mobile Suit Gundam X was the third entry in the Gundam franchise’s Alternative Series lineup, taking place outside the traditional Universal Century timeline.
The series explored a post-apocalyptic Earth devastated by a catastrophic colony drop event and followed the crew of the Freeden as they became entangled in conflicts involving the New United Nations Earth and the Space Revolutionary Army.
Alongside large-scale warfare, the story charted Garrod Ran’s personal growth as he fought to protect Tiffa Adill while also exploring the evolving role of Newtypes within humanity’s future.
Although Gundam X and Gundam Double X became the show’s most recognizable machines, the series also earned praise for introducing a variety of distinctive and unconventional mobile suit designs.
The new STRICT-G.Fab collection returns the spotlight to two of those machines with designs based on Gundam X Divider and Gundam Virsago.
Both shirts are produced using textured 100 percent cotton fabric designed to create a more rugged and authentic feel.
To achieve the appearance of a garment that has been worn for years, the shirts feature faded-style graphic printing combined with a garment-washing process that intentionally creates a distressed finish.
Additional detailing around the seams introduces subtle puckering and wear effects that reinforce the collection’s vintage-inspired presentation.
The result is a clothing range that blends Gundam imagery with the look and feel of classic second-hand apparel.
Pre-orders for both the Gundam X Divider and Gundam Virsago designs are now open through Premium Bandai’s STRICT-G Online Store, with reservations scheduled to remain available until July 5, 2026, unless stock sells out earlier.
Both shirts are priced at ¥6,380 each (approx. $43 USD/£32 GBP), are expected to ship during July 2026, and will also receive a general retail release through participating STRICT-G stores beginning June 20, 2026.
These new T-shirts arrive as part of a broader Gundam X 30th anniversary initiative from STRICT-G, which has also included a separate collection of commemorative apparel and merchandise celebrating the landmark anniversary of the series.
