Bandai to reissue popular Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex figure for the first time in 6 years

A re-release has been announced for the popular and highly sought-after “METAL ROBOT SPIRITS <SIDE MS> Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex” action figure from Bandai Spirits.
This new production run will be the first time the figure has been available in nearly six years, following its original release in 2020.

The “METAL ROBOT SPIRITS” is a high-end line of collector’s figures that are known for their high level of articulation and their extensive use of die-cast metal parts.

The Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex is the final and ultimate form of the protagonist’s mobile suit from the popular 2015 anime series, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans.

The figure was created under the direct supervision of the original mecha designer for the series, Naohiro Washio.

It features a high proportion of die-cast metal parts, consistent with the “Gundam Frame” setting of the anime, giving it a satisfying sense of weight and durability.

The figure comes with a wide range of accessories to recreate all of the mobile suit’s iconic and brutal battle scenes.

The full set includes:
- Main Body

- Interchangeable hands

- The “Ultra Large Mace”

- Two pile bunkers for its feet

- Two sub-arms

- A cable for its tail blade

- An eye-light effect part

- A dedicated display stand set

The figure’s cockpit can be opened and closed, and the included “eye-light effect” part can be attached to recreate its “berserk” state from the anime.

This re-release offers fans of the series a new opportunity to own a definitive, high-end collectible of the iconic and beast-like final form of the Gundam Barbatos.

The “METAL ROBOT SPIRITS <SIDE MS> Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex” is a general retail release, priced at ¥19,800 (approx. $135 USD/£99 GBP).

Pre-orders for the re-release are scheduled to open at online hobby goods retailers from Wednesday, the 1st of October, 2025, and the figure is scheduled to be shipped in April 2026.
