Bandai to open the first permanent Tamagotchi store since 2017 in Tokyo this November

A new, official retail store for the iconic “Tamagotchi” brand, titled “Tamagotchi Factory!,” has been announced by the virtual pet’s manufacturer, Bandai.
The new store is an “experiential” concept shop that will allow visitors not only to purchase goods, but also to engage in a variety of hands-on, customizable activities.

It will be the first permanent location for the Tamagotchi brand since 2017, which saw the closure of the Tama Depa store in Harajuku.

The interior of the store is designed to look like a “factory,” and the staff will be dressed in special, themed uniforms.

One of the main, in-store exclusive activities will be the “Mini-tama Tsume-hōdai!,” or “All-You-Can-Stuff Mini-Tama.”
This is a unique experience where customers can fill a special, Tamagotchi-shaped bottle with a variety of miniature figures of Tamagotchi characters and items.

The store will also host an advance, in-person pre-sale of a new, special-edition Tamagotchi.
The “Tamagotchi Connection – mezzo piano Tamagotchi Collaboration” is a partnership with the fashion brand mezzo piano and features a special, themed design.

In addition to these exclusives, the store will also carry approximately 100 different types of other, official Tamagotchi merchandise, and a “wappen work,” or “patch customization,” service will also be available.

To celebrate the grand opening, a series of character meet-and-greet events with a Tamagotchi character will also be held on the opening weekends.
The new store is designed to appeal to all generations of fans, from those who grew up with the original 1996 release to new fans who have just started with the latest “Tamagotchi Paradise” model.

The “Tamagotchi Factory!” will be located on the third floor of the Tokyu Plaza Harajuku “Harakado” building in Jingumae, Shibuya, Tokyo.
The store is scheduled to have its grand opening next month, on Saturday, the 22nd of November.
