Bandai Announces METAL STRUCTURE RX-93 Nu Gundam Re-Release

Bandai Spirits has announced a highly anticipated re-release of a detailed figure based on the classic anime “Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack”.
The incredible “METAL STRUCTURE Kaitai Shou-Ki RX-93 ν (nu) Gundam” is making a grand return to give collectors another chance to own the ultimate rendition of the iconic mobile suit.

Originally released in theaters in 1988, the landmark animated film served as the dramatic conclusion to the long-standing rivalry between the legendary pilots Amuro Ray and Char Aznable.

The gripping story follows the Earth Federation forces as they attempt to stop Neo Zeon from dropping a massive asteroid onto the planet.

To combat this threat, Amuro pilots the advanced RX-93 ν Gundam, a powerful machine equipped with remote-controlled weapons.

Over the years, this specific mecha has become one of the most recognizable and popular designs in Japanese pop culture, inspiring countless toys and plastic models.

The “METAL STRUCTURE Kaitai Shou-Ki” line represents the absolute pinnacle of Bandai’s manufacturing capabilities, offering an unparalleled level of realism.

This impressive figure stands at approximately 37 cm tall and is constructed from a premium mix of ABS, PVC, and heavy die-cast metal parts.

Comprised of roughly 2,000 individual pieces, the meticulously crafted release features fully painted details and extensive warning markings that mimic the look of a real-world machine.

One of the most striking features is the built-in armor expansion gimmick, which allows owners to gradually open various panels to reveal the intricate mechanical skeleton beneath.

The piece also includes built-in LED light-up features in both the main body and the display base, perfectly capturing the massive scale and mechanical presence of the mobile suit.

To complete the display, the set comes packed with a shield, a beam rifle, a new hyper bazooka, multiple beam sabers with effect parts, and a comprehensive base that includes catwalks, maintenance crew figures, and a miniature Amuro Ray.

The figure requires three included LR41 batteries for the body, while the base requires four AAA batteries, which are sold separately.

This premium release is priced at 132,000 yen (approx. $851 USD / £682 GBP) and is scheduled to launch in August 2026.

Pre-orders officially opened on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, and fans can secure this masterpiece through reputable hobby goods retailers, such as HobbyLink Japan.
