Awesome new artwork revealed as Honkai: Star Rail’s Fate/stay night crossover goes live

HoYoverse has launched a major collaboration event between its space fantasy RPG, Honkai: Star Rail, and the popular anime series, Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works].
The crossover, which began on Friday, the 11th of July, brings characters and themes from the world of Fate into the universe of Honkai: Star Rail.

Fate/stay night is a massive media franchise that began as a visual novel from the creative circle TYPE-MOON, centered on a battle royale known as the “Holy Grail War,” where mages summon historical heroic spirits called Servants to fight for a wish-granting artifact.

The new in-game event is composed of two parts: a Trailblaze Interlude mission titled “Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail War,” and a corresponding battle event.

The story takes place on the dream-like planet of Penacony, where the player’s character participates in the “Sweet Dreams Holy Grail War.”

In this event, seven participants summon Servants to fight, with Saber, Archer, and Lancer from Fate/stay night making an appearance.

To celebrate the launch of the collaboration, a series of special illustrations created by artists with deep ties to the Fate franchise have been released.
A new design for the iconic character Saber was unveiled, drawn by Takashi Takeuchi, a co-founder of TYPE-MOON and the original character artist for Fate/stay night:

A series of countdown illustrations were also released, depicting “what if” battle scenarios between characters from both series.
These include an illustration of Phainon and Gilgamesh by the artist “Shirabi”:

Another piece by “Mika Pikazo” shows the characters Castorice and Rin Tohsaka:

A third illustration from the artist “lack” depicts Acheron and Saber clashing:

The “Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works]” collaboration event is now underway in Honkai: Star Rail, which is available as a free-to-play game with in-app purchases on mobile, PC, and PlayStation 5.
