Honkai: Star Rail version 3.4 and Fate/stay night collab release dates confirmed

Honkai Star Rail Fate Stay Night

miHoYo has announced that Honkai: Star Rail’s Version 3.4 update, titled “For the Sun is Set to Die,” is set to launch on July 2.

This significant update will advance the game’s core narrative, introduce new playable characters, and bring a major collaboration event with Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works].

Honkai: Star Rail, a space fantasy RPG, is available across PlayStation 5, PC, iOS, and Android platforms.

It has expanded the Honkai universe with its turn-based combat and engaging spacefaring storyline.

The upcoming 3.4 update promises to deliver substantial new content for its growing player base.

Version 3.4 picks up the narrative threads left in Amphoreus. The Trailblazer and Phainon, with the assistance of the Chrysos Heirs, are in a race against time to return the final Coreflame to the Vortex of Genesis.

As more truths about Amphoreus come to light, the implications of these revelations are poised to extend beyond a single world, potentially ushering in the “Era Nova” across the cosmos.

The choices made by the Trailblazer in this unfolding story could have universal consequences.

The long-anticipated Phainon will join the Trailblazer’s team as a playable character and key ally in the main story.

Hailing from Aedes Elysiae, Phainon was among the first Chrysos Heirs to welcome the Trailblazer to Amphoreus, consistently stepping up to protect others amidst danger.

Behind his composed demeanor, he carries considerable expectations. Players will journey with Phainon into Aedes Elysiae to explore his background, from his rise as a warrior to his involvement with the Flame-Chase.

In combat, Phainon accumulates “Coreflames,” which allow him to transform and establish a “Territory” using his Ultimate.

In this new form, his combat power significantly increases, and he can channel the powers of Origination, Calamity, and the Foundation Titans.

While transformed, allies temporarily exit the field but their bonus effects persist.

Additionally, Phainon’s presence increases the team’s Technique Point cap, and his Technique can instantly defeat normal enemies within a certain range outside of combat, simplifying map exploration.

Beyond Amphoreus, Penacony will also host a special event. The Trailblazer receives an invitation from Old Oti of the Alfalfa Family to participate in “Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail War.”

This event, set in Penacony, will see seven invited participants summon historical figures as Servants to fight alongside them.

Alongside the Trailblazer, characters such as Aventurine, Boothill, and Robin are confirmed contestants.

Responding to the Holy Grail’s call, three Heroic Spirits will appear: Saber, Archer, and Lancer.

The event’s narrative will explore the unfolding of this unpredictable Holy Grail War and the formation of contracts between participants and Servants.

The Honkai: Star Rail x Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] collaboration story, “Trailblaze Continuance ‘Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail’,” and the “Fate/stay night” event will officially go live on July 11.

The collaboration introduces two new playable characters to the Honkai: Star Rail roster:

  • Saber
Saber Honkai

A 5-star Wind-type character following the Path of Destruction. Her Ultimate, “Excalibur,” delivers substantial Wind DMG to all enemies and enhances her Basic ATK to also target all enemies.

Saber can gain extra actions by accumulating “Core Resonance” through her Technique, Basic ATKs, or when allies use their Ultimates.

Using her Skill with enough “Core Resonance” consumes it to boost the Skill’s damage and instantly refill her Ultimate’s Energy.

  • Archer
Archer Honkai

A 5-star Quantum-type character following the Path of the Hunt, specializing in sustained single-target damage.

When his Skill enters the “Circuit Connection” state, successive uses of the Skill do not end his turn, with damage increasing per cast until Skill Points are depleted.

His Ultimate, “Unlimited Blade Works,” delivers a powerful strike to a single enemy and grants him Special Charge.

As the battle progresses, Archer can consume this Charge to trigger follow-up attacks whenever an ally attacks, also restoring 1 Skill Point for the team.

Version 3.4 also brings back several characters for limited-time Warps and introduces significant enhancements:
