The World Is Dancing Anime Trailer Debuts New Cast And Staff

A new teaser trailer for the anime adaptation of The World Is Dancing was released on March 17, 2026, providing fans with a first look at the upcoming series.

The production team confirmed that the broadcast is scheduled to begin in July 2026.

CygamesPictures is the animation studio behind the project, with Toshimasa Kuroyanagi serving as the director.

The latest announcement introduced five new cast members, including Simba Tsuchiya as Ishiya and Maaya Uchida as Kogane.

Romi Park will provide the voice for Zojiro, while Katsuyuki Konishi takes on the role of Kan’ami, and Haruki Ishiya voices Junigoro.

These performers join Yumiri Hanamori, who was previously announced to play the lead character Oniyasha.

The staff includes series composition by Sawako Kawamitsu, and character designs by Keigo Sasaki, with music composed by Daisuke Shinoda.

The production features specialized roles such as Reijiro Tsumura for Noh choreography and Kohei Kawaguchi as the Noh supervisor to ensure cultural accuracy.

Based on the manga by Kazuto Mihara, which originally appeared in Weekly Morning magazine, the story is set during the year 1374.

The narrative follows Oniyasha, the son of a sarugaku performer, as he searches for the meaning of dance during a period of conflict between the Northern and Southern Courts.

The original manga has been collected into six volumes and is published in English by Kodansha USA.

This announcement follows the initial television anime reveal that took place on January 21, 2026.
