Gundam SEED FREEDOM's New Premium Z'Gok Figure Perfectly Recreates Athrun's Hidden Mobile Suit

TAMASHII NATIONS has revealed new details for its upcoming METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Z’Gok (SEED FREEDOM Ver.), giving fans a closer look at the upcoming release based on one of the standout Mobile Suits from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM continues the story of Kira Yamato, Athrun Zala, and their allies as new conflicts emerge after the events of Gundam SEED DESTINY, introducing upgraded Mobile Suits and major twists that helped make the film a major theatrical hit for the franchise.

While the Z’Gok initially appears to be a modern take on the classic Mobile Suit Gundam design, it is actually a disguised form of the Infinite Justice Gundam Type-II piloted by Athrun Zala, with the reveal of its true identity becoming one of the film’s most talked-about moments.

The Infinite Justice Gundam Type-II is an upgraded unit built with Orb’s latest technology, featuring VPS armor, a panoramic cockpit system, and the M2X32E VOLANTES thruster pack, while its nuclear-powered engine forces it to operate under disguise due to restrictions from the Junius Treaty.

The METAL ROBOT SPIRITS figure recreates the Mobile Suit in approximately 1/144 scale using a partial alloy frame, combining metallic paint finishes with highly detailed sculpting that captures the rounded armor and flexible bellows-style joints seen in the film.

Subtle design touches around areas such as the ankles reveal glimpses of the hidden Infinite Justice Gundam Type-II beneath the Z’Gok armor, while layered paintwork and markings give the figure a worn, realistic military appearance.

Included accessories allow collectors to recreate key scenes, including a battle-damaged head part, red claw replacement pieces for the activated Zangeki Claw effect, and the M2X32E VOLANTES thruster pack that can also be mounted on the exposed Infinite Justice Gundam Type-II configuration.

The METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Z’Gok (SEED FREEDOM Ver.) is priced at ¥20,900 (approx. $145 USD / £105 GBP) and will be available to pre-order through both Premium Bandai Japan and Premium Bandai US.

Pre-orders are expected to open soon, with the figure scheduled for release in December 2026 in Japan, with a slightly later release expected for the US.
