The first-ever permanent mofusand store is set to open in Harajuku
The first-ever permanent retail store for the popular character brand “mofusand” is set to open in the heart of Harajuku, Tokyo.
The new store, “mofusand TOKYO,” will be a high-end, “experiential” concept shop that offers a new perspective on the world of the beloved characters.
“mofusand,” created by the popular illustrator Juno, is a beloved series known for its cute and slightly surreal “nyanko” (cats), including the iconic, shark-costume-wearing “Same-nyan.”
While the brand has previously been sold through a series of successful pop-up shops, this will be its first dedicated, permanent location.
Unlike the previous, casual pop-up shops, “mofusand TOKYO” is designed to be a more modern and high-end “brand experience” store.
The exterior is designed to look like a dollhouse, while the interior will feature a sophisticated layout with glass showcases and premium fixtures.
A key feature of the new store is that it will exclusively showcase rotating “concept series.”
The theme and the entire merchandise lineup will be changed several times a year, offering a fresh experience with each visit.
To celebrate its grand opening, the store’s first concept series will be “COFFEE AND DONUTS.”
This initial collection will feature a lineup of approximately 40 different items. The store will also be the first to carry “Kiramekko Fluffy Kittens,” a new brand of accessory plush toys.

The “COFFEE AND DONUTS” collection will also be released on the official “mofusand mofumofu market” online store on the 24th of October, the same day that the store opens.
