Square Enix Announces Permanent Cafe & Shop Locations for Los Angeles and Tokyo

Square Enix has announced plans to open brand new permanent cafe and retail store locations in Los Angeles, California, and Shinjuku, Tokyo.
The massively popular developer is famous for creating video game series such as “FINAL FANTASY”, “DRAGON QUEST”, and the legendary arcade classic “SPACE INVADERS”.

Square Enix was recently ranked as the top publisher of the year in 2025 by Metacritic, highlighting their continued dominance and critical acclaim in the gaming industry.
With “FINAL FANTASY” alone selling over 209 million units worldwide, these new physical locations will easily become major tourist destinations for dedicated gamers around the globe.

These newly revealed spaces will combine a fully themed dining experience with an adjoining merchandise shop for fans to explore.
This announcement follows closely on the heels of a recently announced collaboration between Square Enix and Asahi, which will see a limited time real-world pop-up bar based on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s “Seventh Heaven” open in Tokyo.

These developments show Square Enix is increasingly committed to expanding their virtual properties into highly successful real-world lifestyle and dining experiences.
The new Square Enix cafe areas will serve a variety of unique food and drink menu items inspired by multiple popular Square Enix properties.

The company’s deep catalog of iconic characters and expansive worlds provides endless possibilities for creative culinary dishes.
This upcoming launch marks a major milestone, as it will be the very first time an official Square Enix cafe offering a full, authentic menu opens in the United States.

Next door to the dining areas, the dedicated shop spaces will carry a massive selection of official merchandise.
Whether you are looking to purchase a high-quality action figure, casual apparel, or cute plushies, these venues will aim to deliver a premium fan experience.

Fans visiting either city will have the perfect opportunity to relax, eat themed meals, and pick up exclusive items all in one immersive space.
The Los Angeles venue will be located at 316 E 1st St. and will be officially operated by J-Pop Culture Cafe Inc.

Meanwhile, the Tokyo branch will take over three floors of the PASELABO TOWER in Shinjuku under the operation of NEWTON CORPORATION.

Both the Square Enix Cafe & Shop Los Angeles and the Shinjuku locations are scheduled to open their doors to the public in Spring 2026.
Further details regarding specific grand opening dates and full menu offerings will be revealed soon.
