Tekken 8 season 2 trailer reveals new characters and Pac-Man collab stage
Bandai Namco have excited the fighting game community with the unveiling of the latest trailer for Season 2 of Tekken 8 at EVO Japan 2025.
The trailer showcased the upcoming content roadmap for Spring and Summer, including the return of a fan favorite character, the introduction of a unique collaboration stage, and details on a new gameplay mode.
Tekken 8 is the latest installment in the legendary Tekken franchise which boasts over 58 million units sold globally.
The game, known for its intricate fighting mechanics, visually stunning graphics with detailed character models showcasing muscle movement, and destructible stage environments, introduced new gameplay elements like the “Heat” system, which empowers characters with enhanced abilities, and the simplified “Special Style” control scheme for more accessible gameplay.
The narrative of Tekken 8 centers on the intense father-son conflict between Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama, complemented by individual character side stories and the “Arcade Quest” mode where players can create custom avatars and engage in rival battles.
Building upon the series’ strong presence in the esports scene, Tekken 8 aims to further cultivate competitive play both domestically and internationally.
The Season 2 Spring & Summer trailer provided a glimpse of the sixth additional playable character joining the Tekken 8 roster: the imposing Muay Thai fighter, Fahkumram.
First introduced in Tekken 7, Fahkumram quickly became a popular character due to his powerful strikes and intimidating presence and the trailer offered a brief look at his return.
Bandai Namco announced that the full gameplay trailer for Fahkumram will be released during “COMBO BREAKER 2025”, a major fighting game event scheduled to take place between Saturday, May 24th and Monday, May 26th, 2025.
Adding a surprising and celebratory element to Season 2, Bandai Namco Entertainment unveiled a collaboration stage with “Pac-Man” titled “PAC-PIXELS”.
This new battle arena is being introduced to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the iconic arcade game mascot. The “PAC-PIXELS” stage will be adorned with Pac-Man themed visuals, BGM, and various interactive effects.
Players will be able to utilize familiar Tekken stage gimmicks such as floor breaks and floor blasts within this retro-inspired environment.
The TEKKEN FIGHT PASS ROUND 6, scheduled for this summer, will also feature a range of Pac-Man collaboration customization items for players to personalize their fighters.
In addition to the new character and stage, Season 2 will also introduce a new gameplay mode called “TEKKEN GHOST SHOWDOWN”.
This mode expands upon the existing “Ghost vs. Ghost” feature, which allows players to face AI opponents that mimic the fighting styles of other players based on learned behavior.
A dedicated arcade cabinet for “TEKKEN GHOST SHOWDOWN” will appear within the TEKKEN FIGHT LOUNGE, the game’s online social hub.
Once seated at this cabinet, players will be able to engage in real-time battles against the AI “Ghosts” of other players. This innovative mode offers a unique way to test skills against a virtual representation of the global Tekken 8 player base.
The trailer also highlighted the recent addition of the fifth DLC character for Season 2: Anna Williams.
Anna returns with her signature close-range speed attacks and powerful maneuvers utilizing her transforming heavy weapon, “Lovely Tom”.
The announcements made at EVO Japan 2025 show Bandai Namco’s commitment to supporting Tekken 8 with substantial post-launch content, keeping the game fresh and engaging for both casual players and competitive veterans.
The return of fan favorite Fahkumram, the unique Pac-Man collaboration, and the new “TEKKEN GHOST SHOWDOWN” mode promise to inject new life into the Tekken 8 experience as Season 2 unfolds.
