Streetwear Inspired Figure of Evangelion’s Asuka Gets a Re-Release

Figure manufacturer Hobby Max Japan has officially announced a re-release of one of their most popular figures of the fiery pilot Shikinami Asuka Langley from the legendary Evangelion franchise.
Released as part of a collaboration with the RADIO EVA fashion project, this release transforms a popular promotional image into a high-end collectible that is a must-have for fans of the series.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a monumental mecha anime franchise that began in 1995, completely revolutionizing the genre with its psychological depth and complex narratives.

The story focuses on the devastating conflicts between humanity and mysterious beings known as Angels.
Teenage pilots are tasked with commanding massive bio-machine weapons to protect the world from apocalyptic threats.

Shikinami Asuka Langley is a highly skilled and confident pilot introduced in the Rebuild of Evangelion theatrical films as the designated operator of Evangelion Unit-02.

RADIO EVA is an official project that started in 2008 with the concept of blending the aesthetic of the series into everyday life.
The brand frequently collaborates with popular illustrators to create highly fashionable apparel and accessories.

This particular 1/7 scale figure is based on a special promotional artwork drawn by the acclaimed illustrator Mai Yoneyama, which features Asuka wearing a range of apparel from sportswear brand FILA.

The illustration was originally created to celebrate the grand opening of the physical RADIO EVA Store located at Shibuya Parco in Tokyo.

The beautiful sculpt perfectly translates the highly stylish clothing and confident pose of the heroine into a three-dimensional display piece standing at an approximate height of 25cm.
Two different versions are available, each priced at 20,350 yen (approx. $135 USD / £107 GBP).

The first version features the character in her vibrant, full-color outfit as seen in the promotional artwork.

An alternate version is available which faithfully replicates the atmospheric grayscale aesthetic of Mai Yoneyama’s illustration, accented with striking pops of red.

These figures are available to pre-order at various hobby goods retailers, such as HobbyLink Japan.
Shipping for both versions is scheduled to take place in November 2026.
