Bandai Reveals Full September 2026 Gunpla Release Schedule
Image by Charlotte DavisBandai has confirmed its full September 2026 Gunpla release schedule, with four new kits joining the MGSD, Master Grade and High Grade lines throughout the month.
One general retail release will arrive alongside three Premium Bandai exclusives, covering mobile suits from Mobile Suit Gundam UC, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, Mobile Fighter G Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny.
The September lineup will see a new addition to MGSD, Bandai’s compact model kit series that combines SD-style proportions with detailed construction, articulation and mechanical features more commonly associated with larger Gunpla grades.
The “MGSD Kshatriya,” priced at ¥7,700 (approx. $48 USD / £36 GBP), is the headline general retail release in Bandai’s September lineup.
Kshatriya is the heavily armed Neo Zeon mobile suit piloted by Marida Cruz in Mobile Suit Gundam UC, with its enormous four binders and extensive funnel arsenal giving it one of the most imposing appearances in the series.
Its arrival also marks the first time MGSD has moved beyond Gundam-type mobile suits, following previous releases including Freedom Gundam, Gundam Barbatos, Wing Gundam Zero EW and Gundam Aerial.
The four huge binders naturally become one of the biggest attractions of the new kit, with extensive internal detailing, movable sub-arms and opening funnel containers packed into each section.
The funnels can also be displayed separately from the binders, while their extensive articulation allows the completed Kshatriya to recreate a variety of attack and defensive poses despite its compact proportions.
September’s first Premium Bandai exclusive is the “HG 1/144 Gyan (Hakuji Equipment),” priced at ¥2,860 (approx. $18 USD / £13 GBP).
The kit recreates the Gyan equipped with the enormous Hakuji weapon from Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, adding another of the anime’s heavily reworked takes on a classic Universal Century mobile suit to the modern High Grade range.
The Hakuji stretches beyond the height of the Gyan itself and comes with a dedicated support stand, allowing the oversized equipment to be displayed without forcing the model to support all of its weight.
Bandai also includes the familiar Gyan Shield and Beam Saber, with opening missile hatches on the shield and a movable mono-eye adding further options when posing the completed model.
The “HG 1/144 Gundam Spiegel,” priced at ¥3,740 (approx. $23 USD / £17 GBP), brings one of Mobile Fighter G Gundam’s most memorable rival machines into the modern High Grade lineup as another Premium Bandai exclusive.
Piloted by Schwarz Bruder, Gundam Spiegel uses a ninja-inspired fighting style that relies heavily on speed, acrobatics and the large Spiegel Blades mounted along its arms.
Bandai has designed the new kit with those movements in mind, giving it enough articulation to reproduce the exaggerated martial arts poses seen throughout the anime.
Its Core Lander can separate from the main body, while additional scroll parts introduce a new display option that plays further into Gundam Spiegel’s ninja theme.
A rotating display base is also included to help recreate the “Sturm und Drang” attack, giving the kit a much more elaborate display option than a standard standing pose.
The “MG 1/100 Blaze Zaku Phantom (Heine Westenfluss Custom),” priced at ¥5,390 (approx. $34 USD / £25 GBP), completes Bandai’s September schedule as the month’s third Premium Bandai exclusive.
The model recreates the orange ZAKU Phantom associated with Heine Westenfluss in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, giving the existing Master Grade design a color scheme closely connected with the popular ZAFT pilot.
Its Blaze Wizard backpack adds large boosters and missile pods to the rear of the mobile suit, with opening thruster sections revealing additional mechanical detail underneath.
The AGM138 Firebee guided missile pods can also open into their firing configuration, while the kit includes a Beam Assault Rifle, Beam Tomahawk and two shields for its main weapon loadout.
New water-slide decals feature Heine’s personal markings and Hawkins Team insignia, while an additional orange right shoulder armor part provides another customization option for compatible separately sold Master Grade ZAKU kits.
In Japan, the general retail MGSD Kshatriya will be released on September 26, while the Premium Bandai exclusive HG Gyan (Hakuji Equipment), HG Gundam Spiegel and MG Blaze Zaku Phantom (Heine Westenfluss Custom) are all scheduled to begin shipping during September.
International collectors will still have opportunities to pick up the same kits through other channels after their domestic launches.
As a general retail release, MGSD Kshatriya should appear through international hobby goods retailers, while the three Premium Bandai exclusives are set to be released through Premium Bandai US, although international release schedules may differ from those confirmed for Japan and pre-orders may already be closed if allocations have been reached.
