Sanrio Shows Off Pompompurin’s Chaotic Morning Routine in New 30th Anniversary Mini Figure Collection
Sanrio and RE-MENT are celebrating Pompompurin’s 30th anniversary with a new miniature figure collection that turns the fan favorite’s everyday struggle to choose an outfit and get ready to leave the house into six tiny diorama scenes.
The “Pompompurin Get ready with Me -What will I wear today?-” collection follows Pompompurin and his friends through a playful morning routine filled with misplaced clothing, half-finished outfits and the familiar chaos of trying to get everything together before heading out.
Pompompurin made his debut in 1996 and has since become one of Sanrio’s most popular characters, with the golden retriever known for his brown beret, relaxed personality and love of pudding inspiring everything from plush toys and cafes to fashion collaborations and collectibles.
The anniversary has already inspired a steady stream of new releases, including a recent Japan Post collection that looks back across Pompompurin’s 30-year history with commemorative stamps, stationery and an adorable kagami mochi-inspired cushion.
Pompompurin has also joined Hello Kitty and Kuromi for a new Converse sneaker collection, with his version of the updated All Star using character artwork and colors created around the golden retriever.
The celebrations extend well beyond merchandise, as Sanrio has announced PomFes, a dedicated Pompompurin summer music festival created following his 30th anniversary and first-place finish in the 2026 Sanrio Character Ranking.
That victory saw Pompompurin secure more than seven million votes and claim the top spot for a second consecutive year, giving him his fifth overall Sanrio Character Ranking title.
The new RE-MENT series leans heavily into that easygoing personality, presenting each figure as a small snapshot rather than simply placing Pompompurin in a different costume.
Across the six designs, Pompompurin can be seen searching for a missing sock, preparing a sweater, getting a T-shirt stuck over his head, checking that he has packed everything he needs and choosing hats to finish off his outfit.
One of the scenes even recreates Pompompurin halfway through changing clothes with his famous rear end peeking out, turning one of the character’s longest-running visual jokes into a miniature three-dimensional figure.
Clothing and accessories play a major role throughout the collection, with the small dioramas incorporating shirts, sweaters, hats, storage pieces and other everyday belongings around Pompompurin and his friends.
That approach gives each design more going on than a traditional character miniature, with scattered clothes and household items helping sell the idea that you’re catching Pompompurin in the middle of actually getting ready rather than simply posing for the collection.
The separate scenes can also be arranged together to create a larger sequence of Pompompurin’s morning, moving from the early stages of picking clothes through to the final checks before everyone is ready to head outside.
Like many of RE-MENT’s character collections, the figures will be sold in blind boxes, meaning fans will not know which of the six scenes they have received until opening the package.
The “Pompompurin Get ready with Me -What will I wear today?-” blind boxes are priced at ¥1,430 each (approx. $9 USD / £7 GBP), with the collection now available to pre-order via retailers such as HobbyLink Japan.
The six-design series is scheduled for release on August 24, 2026, adding another anniversary collectible to a year already centered around celebrating three decades of Pompompurin.
