Starbucks Japan Launches 5 New Frappucinos to Celebrate 30th Anniversary
Starbucks Japan is celebrating its 30th anniversary by re-releasing 5 of its most popular drinks from the last three decades.
“THE STAR Frappuccino Collection” will bring evolved versions of popular past beverages back to cafes across Japan for a new generation to taste.
Starbucks opened its very first Japanese storefront in the Ginza district of Tokyo back in August 1996.
In the 30 years since, the company has expanded to 2,100 locations across all 47 prefectures.
The brand has served over two billion blended beverages to customers during this extensive thirty-year history.
This special anniversary campaign asks fans to hunt down five specific fan-favorite flavors that have been upgraded to match modern tastes.
Each individual store location will exclusively serve a single assigned flavor from the lineup.
This unique distribution strategy encourages customers to visit different neighborhoods to try them all.

- THE Frappuccino® of “Melon of Melon”
- Price: 750 yen (approx. $5.00 USD / £3.90 GBP)
This evolved beverage features increased amounts of red melon pulp and a rich melon sauce for a truly fruity experience.
- THE Frappuccino® of “Fruit-on-Top-Yogurt with Crush Nuts”
- Price: 730 yen (approx. $4.80 USD / £3.80 GBP)
This refreshing blend combines creamy yogurt with a mixed fruit jelly and crushed roasted almonds.
- THE Frappuccino® of “Coffee Jelly”
- Price: 700 yen (approx. $4.60 USD / £3.60 GBP)
This bitter and sweet treat utilizes coffee whipped cream and an original espresso roast jelly.
- THE Frappuccino® of “Kaga Bo Hojicha”
- Price: 730 yen (approx. $4.80 USD / £3.80 GBP)
This traditional option uses first-flush roasted green tea and features a delightful jelly-like warabimochi base.

All of these special anniversary beverages are exclusively available in the standard Tall size.
The campaign will officially launch across Japan on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
Shoppers can search for which specific stores are carrying their desired flavor by using a dedicated online site or checking the “Latest News” section for each store on Google Maps.
A digital stamp rally titled the “Star Frappuccino Quest” will also run through the Starbucks Rewards program until Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
Customers who purchase three different drinks will be entered into a lottery to win a year’s supply of Frappuccinos.
Dedicated fans who manage to purchase all five varieties will be entered into a special drawing to win a handcrafted golden Frappuccino statue.
