Sonic Racing Cross Worlds Adds Tangle and Whisper in Free Update
Sega has officially revealed a new free update for the racing game Sonic Racing Cross Worlds.
This latest expansion adds the popular IDW comic series characters Tangle the Lemur and Whisper the Wolf to the playable racer roster.
Sonic the Hedgehog is a massive global media franchise that originally debuted in 1991 for the Sega Genesis console.
The core story follows the adventures of a blue hedgehog capable of running at supersonic speeds to thwart the plans of the villainous Dr. Eggman.
Sonic Racing Cross Worlds is a team-based racing experience where players customize various machines and gadgets to compete in high-stakes competitions.
This title has gained popularity for its cooperative mechanics and deep vehicle tuning systems that allow for a highly personal driving experience.
The IDW comic series has been running for several years and has introduced many original characters that have become beloved by the community for their different personalities.
Tangle is recognized for her cheerful energy and an elastic tail that she often uses as a grappling hook or a powerful whip during her adventures.

A special commemorative event called the “Tangle & Whisper Festa” is scheduled to begin on Friday, February 27, 2026.

One of the primary challenges involves maximizing the number of “Tap Boost” performed to earn a higher team score for your group.

It is also set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on Friday, April 10, 2026.
