Sold-out Kingdom Hearts “Chain of Memories” playing cards to get a re-release

KINGDOM HEARTS CARDS

A set of playing cards modeled after the battle system in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is being re-released by Square Enix.

The product faithfully recreates the look of the cards used by the protagonist, Sora, in the original Game Boy Advance title and its PlayStation 2 remake, Re:Chain of Memories.

That particular entry in the series diverted from the franchise’s standard action-RPG combat, instead utilizing a strategic, deck-building mechanic where every action in battle was dictated by playing a card.

This new run of the physical playing card deck allows fans to own a real-world version of those iconic in-game items.

While it functions as a standard 54-card deck with two Jokers, its aesthetic is a direct tribute to the game.

Each card features artwork of characters and Keyblades from the Kingdom Hearts universe, just as the in-game attack cards did.

The design mimics the game’s user interface, with a crown motif at the top of each card.

In the bottom right corner, a circle displays the card’s number and rank, along with its respective suit.

This item first became available in September of 2023 and saw a worldwide release at the time, so whilst the re-release is currently only available on the Japanese Square Enix store, it’s likely it will become available to international fans shortly.

The Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories playing cards are priced at price of 3,080 yen and are scheduled to be released in Japan on the 29th of November, 2025.

Pre-orders can be placed directly via the official Square Enix store.
