Bandai Announces Re-Release for 5 Exclusive Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Gunpla Kits
Image by Charlotte DavisFive exclusive Gunpla kits from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury are returning for another production run, giving fans a new opportunity to pick up several of the series’ harder-to-find High Grade releases.
The latest Premium Bandai re-release wave brings back the “HG 1/144 Gundam Calibarn (Permet Score Five),” “HG 1/144 Heingra,” “HG 1/144 Desultor,” “HG 1/144 Beguir-Beu Torche (Kenanji Squad/Ridrick Squad Unit)” and “HG 1/144 Gundam Lfrith Jiu”.

The five kits cover several different parts of The Witch from Mercury’s Ad Stella timeline, ranging from machines seen in the main anime and its PROLOGUE episode to Mobile Suits introduced through the official Vanadis Heart side-story manga.

The “HG 1/144 Gundam Calibarn (Permet Score Five),” priced at ¥2,200 (approx. $14 USD / £10 GBP), recreates Suletta Mercury’s Gundam with the red Shell Unit appearance seen when Calibarn reaches Permet Score Five.

Its chest Shell Unit uses in-mold decoration to reproduce the layered red effect, while the kit retains Calibarn’s large Variable Rod Rifle alongside its Beam Sabers, shield equipment, and included display base.

The “HG 1/144 Heingra,” priced at ¥1,980 (approx. $12 USD / £9 GBP), returns to the events of The Witch from Mercury PROLOGUE and recreates the mass-produced Mobile Suit deployed by the Dominicus forces.

Bandai uses dedicated parts for areas including the head and backpack, with a Beam Rifle, two Beam Sabers, and Shield providing the weapons needed to recreate its appearances during the Vanadis Incident.

The “HG 1/144 Desultor,” priced at ¥2,860 (approx. $18 USD / £13 GBP), represents an older Jeturk Heavy Machinery Mobile Suit developed before the Dilanza and stands out as one of the most heavily equipped models in the returning group.

Its extensive accessories allow several configurations to be recreated, including an Assault Rifle, Beltablade R3, Heat Knives, Grenade Launcher, and alternative backpack equipment for its different battlefield roles.

The “HG 1/144 Beguir-Beu Torche (Kenanji Squad/Ridrick Squad Unit),” priced at ¥2,420 (approx. $15 USD / £11 GBP), comes from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury – Vanadis Heart and develops the familiar Beguir-Beu into a specialized ground-combat machine.

Builders can recreate versions belonging to either the Kenanji or Ridrick squads, while its distinctive equipment includes movable Greaves, a large waist-mounted hover unit, Non-Kinetic Pods, Beam Sabers and a dedicated Beam Rifle.

The final returning kit is the “HG 1/144 Gundam Lfrith Jiu,” priced at ¥1,980 (approx. $12 USD / £9 GBP), the main Gundam used by Kiyu Lavot in Vanadis Heart.

Its defining feature is the enormous “Tiger Hand,” a multipurpose weapon almost as large as the Mobile Suit itself that can attach to Lfrith Jiu’s arm, mount across its back, and open its individually articulated fingers for a wide variety of combat poses.

The combination makes this a particularly varied re-release wave for Witch from Mercury fans, covering an alternate version of one of the anime’s most important Gundams alongside several machines that have only ever been available as Premium Bandai limited kits.

Japanese pre-orders for all five re-releases opened through Premium Bandai on August 31, 2026, with the new production runs currently scheduled to ship in November.

Premium Bandai US also currently has a number of these Witch from Mercury kits either in stock or available for pre-order, giving stateside fans the opportunity to pick up some of the returning models directly through Bandai’s official US store rather than relying on imported Japanese releases.
