Smoking Behind The Supermarket Anime Debuts New Trailer and Visual as Theme Song Artists Confirmed

The upcoming anime adaptation of Jinushi’s manga, Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You, is scheduled to make its television debut in July 2026.
Fresh details regarding the series were unveiled during the AnimeJapan 2026 event on March 28, 2026, including a new trailer and key visual for fans.

The story follows forty-five year old office worker Sasaki, who finds comfort in smoking and the company of a mysterious woman named Tayama.
The production team confirmed that the artist Imase will perform the ending theme song titled Fiction, while Zutomayo is set to provide the opening theme song.
The series will be broadcast across 28 TBS affiliated stations every Thursday at 11:56 PM starting in July 2026.
Viewers can also look forward to an exclusive early streaming version on ABEMA beginning in June 2026, with further details to be announced at a later date.
Directed by Masato Suzuki and Aori Mori at Asahi Production, the anime features character designs by Yasuka Otaki and music by Sayaka Aoki and Shin Kono.
The original manga by Jinushi began as a webcomic on X in March 2022 before moving to Monthly Big Gangan in August 2022 and winning the 2022 Next Manga Award.
Square Enix handles the English publication of the manga series, which currently has eight volumes available in Japan.
Additional casting news previously confirmed on February 25, 2026, indicated that Masato Suzuki would be joining the production alongside the release of five character visuals.
