Bandai has officially announced the first-ever Master Grade Gunpla kit based on Gundam X Divider, bringing the heavily modified version of Garrod Ran’s original Mobile Suit to the MG line for the first time.

The “MG 1/100 Gundam X Divider” received its first public display at the 64th All Japan Model & Hobby Show, where Bandai showed the completed kit equipped with the huge multifunctional Divider that gives the Mobile Suit its name.

After War Gundam X follows Garrod Ran after he steals the GX-9900 Gundam X and becomes caught up in the conflict surrounding Newtypes, eventually joining the crew of the Freeden alongside Tiffa Adill.

The original Gundam X is badly damaged during Garrod’s battle with Carris Nautilus and the Bertigo, leaving key equipment, including its Satellite Cannon system, beyond practical repair.

Freeden mechanic Kid Salsamille rebuilds the damaged machine using available replacement parts and equipment, creating the Gundam X Divider as a combat-focused version better suited to fighting without the Satellite Cannon.

Its defining addition is the Divider itself, a large multipurpose shield fitted with thrusters that can provide additional propulsion when mounted to the Gundam’s back or held during combat.

Opening the shield exposes six sets of triple beam emitters that form the Harmonica Cannon, giving Gundam X Divider a powerful ranged weapon built directly into its most recognizable piece of equipment.

The rebuilt Mobile Suit also replaces Gundam X’s destroyed Shield Buster Rifle with a Beam Machine Gun, while its revised backpack carries two large Beam Swords and additional energy tanks for extended operation.

Bandai’s first display shows the Master Grade kit with the Divider fully opened, allowing the Harmonica Cannon configuration and individual sections across the large shield to be seen in much greater detail at 1/100 scale.

The release fills a gap in the Gundam X Gunpla lineup, as Gundam X Divider previously received an original 1/100 kit in 1996 and a later HGAW 1/144 release but has never appeared as a true Master Grade kit.

The existing HGAW Gundam X Divider remains one of the main modern Gunpla releases based on the machine, recreating the Divider, Beam Machine Gun and other equipment at the smaller 1/144 scale.

The announcement arrives during After War Gundam X’s 30th anniversary year, which has already seen Bandai significantly expand its Gunpla representation with releases including the first modern HG Gundam Leopard alongside completely new HG kits of Gundam Virsago and Gundam Ashtaron.

Several classic 1/100 Gundam X kits have also returned during the anniversary celebrations, including Gundam Double X, Gundam Leopard Destroy, Gundam Airmaster Burst, Gundam Virsago and the G-Falcon Unit with Gundam Double X.

Bandai is supporting the wider anniversary with projects outside Gunpla as well, including the “Gundam X Is Always There” campaign that will turn all 39 episodes of the anime into individual commemorative posters displayed across Japan.

Another Gunpla reveal at the All Japan Model & Hobby Show saw Bandai confirm an HG 1/144 GX-Bit, finally giving the unmanned Mobile Suits used alongside the Gundam X’s Satellite System their own modern High Grade kit.

For builders in the US, the kit should appear through Premium Bandai US after the Japanese release is listed, although corresponding US pre-orders can often take several days or weeks to follow the initial Japanese pre-order window.
