Bandai Reveals New Official Gundam: Char’s Counterattack Denim Fashion Collab Collection
Image by Charlotte DavisBandai has teamed up with American denim brand Lee for a new official Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack fashion collection built around the RX-93 ν Gundam, MSN-04 Sazabi, and other imagery from the 1988 movie.
The latest STRICT-G collaboration includes seven items split across Lee’s classic 91-B zip jacket, adjustable FLeeasy denim pants, and three T-shirt designs, combining Gundam references with established Lee workwear styles.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack brought the long-running rivalry between Amuro Ray and Char Aznable to its decisive confrontation, with Amuro piloting the ν Gundam against Char’s Sazabi during the battle surrounding Axis.

Those two Mobile Suits provide the central theme for the denim pieces, with indigo used for the ν Gundam designs and black providing the base for their Sazabi counterparts.

The collection also reaches beyond the two rival machines through T-shirts incorporating the Re-GZ and Axis, giving the lineup several references to the wider conflict rather than focusing entirely on Amuro and Char’s final Mobile Suits.
Let’s take a closer look at the full collection!
STRICT-G Lee “Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack” 91-B ZIP Jacket – ¥25,300 (approximately $160 / £121)
The jacket is based on Lee’s classic 91-B work jacket from the 1950s and uses the brand’s lightweight but durable 10.5 oz Jelt Denim.
- RX-93 (Indigo): An indigo version incorporating motifs based on Amuro Ray’s RX-93 ν Gundam.

- MSN-04 (Black): A black version incorporating motifs based on Char Aznable’s MSN-04 Sazabi.

STRICT-G Lee “Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack” FLeeasy – ¥18,150 (approximately $115 / £87)
Lee’s FLeeasy pants combine stretch denim with an internal waist adjuster that allows a single size to cover approximately XS through XXL.
- RX-93 (Indigo): An indigo denim version themed around the ν Gundam.

- MSN-04 (Black): A black denim version themed around the Sazabi.

STRICT-G Lee “Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack” T-Shirt – ¥7,700 each (approximately $49 / £37)
- Lee Logo MS (Sumikuro): Reworks Lee’s familiar logo design with opposing Mobile Suits positioned around the branding.

- Denim Pocket Re-GZ (White): Uses Lee’s traditional denim pocket T-shirt format with a design based on Amuro’s RGZ-91 Re-GZ.

- Axis Logo (Navy): Combines Lee lettering with imagery based on Axis, the asteroid fortress at the center of Char’s plan during the movie.

STRICT-G has revisited Char’s Counterattack through several other fashion collaborations during 2026, including redesigned Amuro Ray and Char Aznable LIGHT MA-1 jackets created with ALPHA INDUSTRIES.

A more recent STRICT-G check-shirt collection also gave Amuro his own Char’s Counterattack design alongside shirts based on the Principality of Zeon and Mafty from Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe.

Image by Charlotte DavisOnline reservations for the new Lee collaboration opened through the STRICT-G Online Store on Premium Bandai Japan on October 2, 2026 and are scheduled to remain available until October 12 at 11:00 PM JST, or until the available allocation sells out, with shipping planned for October.
The collection will also go on general sale at STRICT-G’s four physical stores in Japan from October 10, including its locations at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, Tokyo Solamachi, NEOPASA Shizuoka, and Taga Service Area.

No US release has been announced for the Lee collection at this stage, though many STRICT-G releases do eventually appear through Premium Bandai US.
