Gundam Unveils New Official Shirt Collection Based on Three Iconic Anime Eras

Bandai has unveiled a new official Gundam apparel collection featuring embroidered check shirts inspired by Mobile Suit Gundam, Char’s Counterattack, and the latest Gundam Hathaway movie.

The new “STRICT-G Gundam Series Check Shirt” range features three designs themed around the Principality of Zeon, Amuro Ray, and Mafty, bringing imagery from three different eras of the franchise to a casual everyday shirt.

STRICT-G is Bandai’s dedicated Gundam fashion label, regularly adapting the franchise’s mobile suits, pilots, and factions into clothing designed to work as conventional apparel rather than simply character merchandise.

The three new shirts span a significant portion of the Universal Century timeline, beginning with the Principality of Zeon from the original 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam and moving through Amuro Ray’s appearance in 1988’s Char’s Counterattack to the anti-Earth Federation organization Mafty from Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe.

Amuro and Char have also recently returned to STRICT-G through the brand’s first official Gunpla box art fashion collection, which uses artwork inspired by six Gunpla packages to trace their rivalry across the original anime, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam and Char’s Counterattack.

Hathaway has received several dedicated STRICT-G releases of its own this year, including a Sorcery of Nymph Circe collection featuring ripstop jackets and embroidered T-shirts based on Mafty, the Xi Gundam and Penelope.

Each of the new check shirts places a large embroidered emblem on the left side of the chest, while additional logo embroidery across the back gives the designs a stronger Gundam identity without covering the entire garment in character artwork.

All three are made from 100% cotton with a slightly relaxed silhouette and are available in sizes M through XXL, allowing them to be worn as a regular shirt or left open as a light outer layer.

The new shirts are now available through the STRICT-G Online Store on Premium Bandai Japan and at physical STRICT-G stores across Japan.

Online pre-orders are currently scheduled to remain available until October 11, 2026, or until the available allocation sells out, with shipping planned for October.

No US release has been announced at this stage, although STRICT-G has brought selected apparel collections to Premium Bandai US during 2026, including embroidered Mobile Suit Gundam T-shirts and its KUSHITANI motorcycle apparel range, so it’s likely that these shirts will eventually get an American release.
