The Idolm@ster Shiny Colors “Friendship Never Dies” POP UP SHOP at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA and Kyoto IP Shoten
A new The Idolm@ster Shiny Colors pop-up shop is set to open this November, offering exclusive merchandise featuring five idols in newly illustrated outfits inspired by Japan’s Heisei-era gyaru fashion.
The “TSUTAYA × THE IDOLM@STER SHINY COLORS Friendship Never Dies POP UP SHOP” will begin at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA before moving to Kyoto IP Shoten, with additional merchandise featuring miniature illustrations of characters from several other idol units.
Part of Bandai Namco’s long-running The Idolm@ster franchise, Shiny Colors follows the aspiring idols of 283 Production as they work toward their dreams of becoming successful performers.
The new collaboration focuses on After School Climax Girls, a five-member unit consisting of Kaho Komiya, Chiyoko Sonoda, Juri Saijo, Rinze Morino and Natsuha Arisugawa, known for their energetic performances and close friendships.
All five members appear in original illustrations wearing outfits inspired by Heisei gyaru fashion, drawing on the colorful clothing and accessories associated with the Japanese youth fashion movement.
The new artwork will be used across a merchandise collection including acrylic stands, oversized acrylic character displays and badges, with each member receiving an individual design.
Additional products will feature newly illustrated chibi versions of characters from After School Climax Girls, illumination STARS, L’Antica and Straylight.
These smaller illustrations will appear on trading acrylic stands, character badges, name badges and collectible student ID-style cards, with the wider collection also including clear files, stickers, an acrylic art panel, a rubber desk mat and a stainless steel tumbler.
A separate series of life-size character panels featuring the five After School Climax Girls members will be available exclusively through online made-to-order sales.
Customers purchasing eligible merchandise at either physical venue will receive a special four-panel manga bookmark with each transaction.
Purchases of ¥2,200 or more will also qualify for one randomly selected postcard from 21 designs, with another postcard available for each additional ¥2,200 spent.
The postcard designs will be divided between two distribution periods at each venue, with all bonuses available while supplies last.
Admission restrictions or numbered entry tickets may be introduced depending on visitor numbers.
The “TSUTAYA × THE IDOLM@STER SHINY COLORS Friendship Never Dies POP UP SHOP” will run from November 11 through November 30, 2026 at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA IP Shoten on the sixth floor of SHIBUYA TSUTAYA in Tokyo, with regular opening hours of 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
The second event will take place from December 11, 2026 through January 7, 2027 at Kyoto IP Shoten on the sixth floor of Kyoto Takashimaya S.C., with regular opening hours of 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM.
