SD Gundam’s Great Zeong Returns to Join Bandai’s Premium ROBOT SPIRITS Figure Line

BANDAI SPIRITS has revealed a brand-new addition to its premium ROBOT SPIRITS action figure lineup, based on one of the most unusual mobile suits from the Gundam franchise.

The Great Zeong first appeared in the PlayStation 2 title “SD Gundam G Generation Spirits” as an original mobile suit created as the direct successor to the MSN-02 Zeong.

Rather than simply upgrading the original design, the machine combines elements from several of the Principality of Zeon’s most famous Mobile Armors into a single colossal unit.

Its head and arms evolve directly from the Zeong, while the chest and shoulders draw inspiration from the Apsalus III, the waist and upper legs are based on the Big Zam, and the lower legs incorporate the distinctive design of the Bigro.

Each of these major sections can separate independently using the mobile suit’s Psycommu system before launching its devastating all-range “7-Way Attack,” powered by multiple internal Mega Particle Cannons.

Unlike the original game’s super-deformed proportions, the ROBOT SPIRITS interpretation presents the Great Zeong at approximately 28 cm tall with an intricate high-density sculpt and a realistic mechanical appearance.
The figure emphasizes the overwhelming scale of the combined machine while preserving the distinctive characteristics of each individual Zeon Mobile Armor that inspired its design.

To support the weight of the oversized body, die-cast metal components have been incorporated into both the shoulder and ankle joints, providing additional strength and display stability.
Collectors can fully recreate the machine’s transformation and separation gimmicks, with each of the four major Mobile Armor sections capable of being detached and displayed individually using the included dedicated display stand.

When assembled, the abdominal Mega Particle Cannon section functions as a structural locking mechanism that securely joins the upper and lower body together.

The leg assemblies also feature internal locking systems and storage mechanisms that improve stability while allowing for a variety of dynamic action poses.

The Zeong head section includes a movable mono-eye camera along with interchangeable upper head parts that recreate its distinctive vertical rotation mechanism.

Once separated, the Apsalus III-inspired section can deploy its concealed head unit and mechanical arms without requiring additional replacement parts.

The Big Zam-inspired component features an opening mono-eye camera and deployable Mega Particle Cannon muzzle, while interchangeable parts allow the feet to be displayed in different configurations.

The pair of Bigro-inspired lower leg units each include movable mono-eye cameras, and their signature heat claws can be extended using built-in pull-out mechanisms.
