Sanrio’s omurice loving dinosaur Gaopowerroo gets their first-ever solo merch line
The first-ever standalone merchandise series for the Sanrio character Gaopowerroo has been officially announced.
The new collection, called the “Gaopowerroo Omurice Design Series,” is themed around the character’s favorite food, omurice, or omelet rice.
Gaopowerroo is a powerful dinosaur character who lives on “Omurice Island” and this new line of goods fully embraces that charming concept.
The extensive collection features a wide range of plush toys, accessories, and lifestyle goods.
The full product lineup includes:
- Gaopowerroo Plush Toy – ¥3,300
A cute plush of a happy Gaopowerroo wearing an omurice hat and holding his favorite food.
- Gaopowerroo Mascot Holder (2 varieties) – ¥2,200 each
A fluffy mascot keychain, with one design featuring his friend Piyosan the mouse, and another of him fashionably wearing an omurice.
- Gaopowerroo Pass Case – ¥2,497
A pass case with a retractable cord; when you pull the strap, Gaopowerroo pops out from the omurice-shaped pouch.
- Gaopowerroo Mascot Brooch – ¥1,496
A cute mascot brooch featuring Gaopowerroo with an omurice hat and pochette, perfect for attaching to a tote bag.

The release of the new collection will be staggered over several days.
An early launch will be held at the Sanrio NISHIGINZA store next Wednesday, the 13th of August, 2025.
This will be followed by the main nationwide launch at most Sanrio stores, department store counters, and the official Sanrio online shop on Thursday, the 14th of August, 2025.
A final release for stores in select western regions is scheduled for Friday, the 15th of August, 2025.
Due to the high demand expected for this debut collection, strict purchase limits will be in place for the first week of the launch.
