Sanrio releases cute new retro-themed perfume bottle accessories

Sanrio fans can now collect a new set of adorable capsule toy items based on the concept of a Sanrio themed perfume range.
The “Sanrio Characters Perfume Bottle-shaped Sparkle Keychains” range has been released across Japan, giving us a look at what perfumes based on some of Sanrio’s most popular characters would potentially look like in real life.
Sanrio characters, such as Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Cinnamoroll, have been a cultural phenomenon for decades, often collaborating with other popular series, as seen with the announcement of an upcoming team up with SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog.

Capsule toys, or “gashapon,” are a pervasive part of Japanese retail culture, offering small, collectible items from vending machines, creating an element of surprise with each purchase.
This new series blends the timeless appeal of Sanrio with a nostalgic design trend.
The keychains draw inspiration from the “Kaohana Design” popular in the late 1990s, characterized by floral patterns and houndstooth checks.

This retro aesthetic offers a unique and charming twist on the classic Sanrio characters.
Each keychain is shaped like a perfume bottle and contains colorful beads that create a pleasant “shaka-shaka” sound when shaken.
The bottle design also allows the keychains to stand upright, making them suitable for display.
The collection features six popular Sanrio characters:
- Hello Kitty

- My Melody

- Cinnamoroll

- Pompompurin

- Pochacco

- Kuromi

It should be noted that the “Sanrio Characters Perfume Bottle-shaped Sparkle Keychains” are not functional perfume bottles and the beads contained inside are not scented.
They are however a great addition to any Sanrio fans collection, either as a decorative item or to show off your fandom by attaching them to bags/keychains using the ball-chain that is included with each capsule.
They are now available in capsule toy vending machines across Japan, priced at ¥400 (tax included) per randomly selected capsule.
