Demon Slayer’s Nichirin Swords Inspire New Official Loafer Sneaker Collection
Image by James RichardsonDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is teaming up with Japanese fashion brand MAYLA for a new collection that turns the weapons and recognizable motifs of six characters into subtle everyday footwear.
The “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Iconic Shoes Object Loafer Sneakers” collection features separate models inspired by Tanjiro Kamado, Giyu Tomioka, Kyojuro Rengoku, Tengen Uzui, Muichiro Tokito and Sanemi Shinazugawa.
MAYLA has become particularly well known for adapting anime characters into fashion rather than simply covering products in character artwork, most recently transforming elements of Vash the Stampede’s red coat and prosthetic arm into a pair of TRIGUN STARGAZE boots.
Their latest Demon Slayer release combines the smarter appearance of a traditional loafer with the more casual construction of a sneaker, finishing the hybrid design with a substantial chunky sole.
As opposed to large character prints or graphics that are often used across anime collab collections, the references to Demon Slayer are incorporated into individual details that allow each model to function as conventional footwear.
The most prominent of those details sits across the vamp, where an intricately engraved metal ornament receives an antique gold finish that gives the shoes a more traditional Japanese appearance.
Each ornament takes inspiration from the tsuba of its respective character’s Nichirin sword, using the distinctive sword guards as recognizable references without reproducing an entire weapon across the shoe.
MAYLA has also given every model its own character-inspired insole pattern, adding more direct references inside the shoes while keeping the exterior comparatively restrained.
The collection pairs protagonist Tanjiro with five members of the Hashira, covering Giyu’s Water Hashira, Rengoku’s Flame Hashira, Tengen’s Sound Hashira, Muichiro’s Mist Hashira and Sanemi’s Wind Hashira designs.
Let’s take a closer look at each of the six character models included in the collection:
The “Tanjiro Kamado Model” features an insole pattern associated with Tanjiro alongside a metal ornament inspired by the tsuba of his black Nichirin sword.
The “Giyu Tomioka Model” incorporates a Giyu-inspired pattern across its insole, while its antique-gold ornament adapts the tsuba of the Water Hashira’s Nichirin sword.
The “Kyojuro Rengoku Model” uses an insole pattern based around the Flame Hashira, paired with an ornament that draws from the distinctive tsuba of Rengoku’s Nichirin sword.
The “Tengen Uzui Model” gives the Sound Hashira his own character-specific insole design alongside a metal ornament inspired by the tsuba used across his distinctive paired Nichirin blades.
The “Muichiro Tokito Model” combines a Mist Hashira-inspired insole pattern with an ornament based on the tsuba of Muichiro’s Nichirin sword.
The “Sanemi Shinazugawa Model” completes the lineup with a Wind Hashira-inspired insole and its own antique-gold ornament based on the tsuba of Sanemi’s Nichirin sword.
All six “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Iconic Shoes Object Loafer Sneakers” are priced at ¥30,800 each (approx. $194 USD / £143 GBP).
Pre-orders are scheduled to open through MAYLA’s official online store on September 7, 2026, with shipments expected to begin rolling out from early November.
