Popular Gundam mini bust figures of Char Aznable’s Sazabi get a re-release

BANDAI is set to re-release a popular Gashapon mini-figure series based on one of Char Aznable’s iconic mobile suits.
The “Mobile Suit Gundam MS Mechanical Bust 07” collection features three different variants of Char’s MSN-04 Sazabi mobile suit.
These intricately designed busts replicate Char’s mobile suit from the film “Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack”.

The “MS Mechanical Bust” series is a line of Gashapon (capsule toys) produced by Bandai, known for offering highly detailed, display-oriented bust models of popular mobile suits.
These collectibles emphasize the intricate design and internal mechanisms of the mechs, providing a unique perspective that goes beyond standard action figures.
The Sazabi “MS Mechanical Bust” was originally released in July 2024 and was particularly well-received for its faithful rendition of one of Gundam’s most recognizable antagonist mobile suits.

The MSN-04 Sazabi is a formidable mobile suit piloted by Char Aznable in the 1988 animated film “Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack”.
This film is a key entry in the Gundam series’ Universal Century timeline, serving as a climactic confrontation between Char and his long-time rival, Amuro Ray.

The Sazabi itself is known for its powerful appearance, heavy armament, and distinctive red coloring, making it a memorable symbol of Char’s final bid for supremacy.
The “MS Mechanical Bust Sazabi” allows collectors to appreciate the mobile suit’s intricate design and structure by combining its exterior armor with detailed internal mechanisms.
The lineup for this re-release consists of three different variants:
- Color Ver.

This version presents the Sazabi’s outer armor in its signature red color.
- Mechanical Clear Ver.

This variant features a translucent outer shell, allowing a glimpse at the underlying mechanical details without fully exposing the internal structure.
- Internal Frame

This is the most unique piece in the set, showcasing the Sazabi’s complex internal skeleton.
The Internal Frame bust also includes a luminous unit. When activated, this unit causes the clear parts on the head and abdomen of the bust to light up.
It can be combined with the Color or Mechanical Clear versions to create a dynamic and impressive visual effect.

The re-release of the Sazabi “MS Mechanical Bust” provides an excellent opportunity for fans who missed its initial run to acquire it.
It will start to appear in Gashapon machines across Japan from the June 23rd, and each capsule will be priced at 500 yen (approximately $3.20 USD).
