Pokémon Center Reveals Designer Plush Collection from Sean Wotherspoon

Pokémon Center has revealed a brand-new collaboration with acclaimed designer Sean Wotherspoon, introducing a premium plush collection that gives three iconic Pokémon a distinctive vintage-inspired makeover.
Pokémon first launched in 1996 with Pokémon Red and Green on the Game Boy and has since grown into one of the world’s biggest entertainment franchises, spanning video games, animation, trading cards, movies and merchandise loved by multiple generations of fans.

The new collection has been directed by Los Angeles-based designer Sean Wotherspoon, who is internationally recognized as one of the world’s leading vintage collectors, co-founder of the ROUNDTWO retail chain and founder of his own fashion label, SWJP.

Created exclusively for Pokémon Center, the collaboration reimagines Bulbasaur, Charizard and Pikachu through Wotherspoon’s signature design philosophy, taking inspiration from vintage clothing details and naturally faded, well-worn fabrics to create a look unlike previous Pokémon plush releases.

Each plush has been produced using newly developed fabric printed with patterns that recreate the textured appearance and subtle fading associated with vintage apparel, helping every design stand out with its own distinctive character.

Rather than simply recreating the Pokémon in their traditional colors, the collaboration gives each plush a unique aesthetic influenced by collectible fashion and retro streetwear culture while still preserving the instantly recognizable appearance of each character.

The collection consists of three designs, featuring Bulbasaur, Charizard and Pikachu, with each plush priced at ¥7,700 (approx. $53 USD / £39 GBP).

The Sean Wotherspoon × Pokémon Center plush collection will be available through Pokémon Center Online.
Made-to-order sales will begin on July 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM Japan time.
