Pipes.exe: 90s Screensaver-Inspired Co-op QA Horror Game Announced for PC

Publisher CRITICAL REFLEX and developer Moving Pieces Interactive announced a new cooperative horror title named Pipesexe on June 7, 2026.
The project is inspired by the aesthetics of 1990s screensavers and places players in the role of quality assurance testers for a fictional corporate entity called System 6D.
Set within the revolutionary Geometry Operating System, or gOS, the game tasks employees with investigating software bugs that may manifest as demonic entities.
Players must navigate immersive digital workspaces and surreal procedural networks by utilizing a proprietary hand and pull locomotion system to climb through various environments.
A key mechanic involves a fully integrated VOIP communication system that evaluates workplace professionalism in real time by monitoring for excessive shouting or unprofessional language.
The game supports solo play as well as online cooperative modes for up to four players who must coordinate to repair systems and retrieve artifacts for a recycling bin.
Successful missions allow testers to earn points used to unlock cosmetics and essential items within the company shop during their limited break times.
The announcement coincided with the launch of a debut Steam playtest on June 7, 2026, which features six specific missions for participants to experience firsthand.
Moving Pieces Interactive, a Brooklyn based indie studio founded in 2019, aims to blend quirky humor with deep gameplay mechanics in this upcoming PC release.
In addition to the immediate playtest, the publisher indicated that further information might be shared during the India Games Showcase scheduled for June 8, 2026.
