Hatsune Miku’s Latest Nendoroid Officially Revives a 9 Year Old Magical Mirai Design

The “Hatsune Miku: Magical Mirai 2016 Ver. Nendoroid” recreates the colorful futuristic appearance designed by illustrator LEN[A-7] for the fourth edition of the annual Magical Mirai event.

Hatsune Miku “Magical Mirai” has been held annually since 2013, combining 3DCG live performances featuring Miku and the other Piapro Characters with exhibitions celebrating the music, artwork, and wider creative community surrounding them.

Magical Mirai 2016 moved the event to Makuhari Messe, where its concerts and exhibition were held across three days in September 2016.

Its main visual focused on Miku’s music, the colorful creative world that had developed around her and the idea of that culture continuing infinitely into the future.

LEN[A-7] reflected that idea through a Miku costume that combines cute styling with a more futuristic appearance, using bright colors, geometric details, and the cube motif that became closely associated with the 2016 event.

The “Hatsune Miku: Magical Mirai 2016 Ver. Nendoroid,” priced at ¥6,900 (approx. $43 USD / £32 GBP), recreates the same costume in a figure standing around 10 cm tall.

Its interchangeable expressions include a cheerful smiling face and a wink, allowing Miku to recreate the upbeat appearance seen throughout the original Magical Mirai artwork.

A stand microphone is included for performance poses, while the separate cube accessory directly recreates one of the main visual motifs from the 2016 event.

The figure is opening for pre-orders alongside two additional Hatsune Miku Nendoroids covering much newer versions of the virtual singer.
The “Hatsune Miku: Magical Mirai 2025 Ver. Nendoroid,” priced at ¥8,000 (approx. $50 USD / £37 GBP), recreates Tiv’s blue star-filled costume from last year’s event.

Magical Mirai 2025 used the theme “A Day in the Stars,” with its visual direction centered on a night sky filled with individual points of light representing creators and fans.

The figure includes smiling, winking, and pleading expressions alongside a microphone, microphone stand, and star, while a piece of zunda dango references Magical Mirai visiting Sendai for the first time in 2025.

The “Hatsune Miku V6 Nendoroid,” priced at ¥7,800 (approx. $49 USD / £36 GBP), completes the trio with LAM’s updated design for the latest version of Crypton’s Hatsune Miku singing software.

Its three expressions include a gentle smile, puzzled face, and larger smiling expression, with a stand microphone and heart effect included among its additional parts.

Fans ordering the V6 figure directly from Good Smile Company will also receive a mini acrylic art board featuring newly drawn Miku artwork by LAM.

Pre-orders for all three Hatsune Miku Nendoroids opened on August 31 and are scheduled to remain available until October 14, with shipping currently planned for March 2027.

The “Hatsune Miku: Magical Mirai 2016 Ver. Nendoroid” and “Hatsune Miku: Magical Mirai 2025 Ver. Nendoroid” are exclusive to the Good Smile Company store, while the “Hatsune Miku V6 Nendoroid” is also available through retailers such as HobbyLink Japan.
