New Initial D x PUI PUI Molcar Collab Merch Set to Go on Sale at Japan’s Top Custom Car Show

An official collaboration has been announced between the iconic manga series Initial D and the stop-motion animation PUI PUI Molcar.
Initial D is widely regarded as the bible of street racing manga, having sparked a global drifting boom and immortalized the Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno.

In stark contrast, PUI PUI Molcar is a heartwarming stop-motion series created by Tomoki Misato that features cars made of wool felt that resemble guinea pigs.

A range of exclusive collaboration merchandise will be sold at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, which takes place at Makuhari Messe from Friday, January 9 to Sunday, January 11, 2026.
The collection reimagines the legendary drift cars from Shuichi Shigeno’s manga as adorable guinea pig cars.
Fans can see Molcars sporting the iconic “Fujiwara Tofu Shop” Panda Trueno (AE86) livery.

Other designs feature the rotary-powered machines of the Akagi RedSuns, specifically the FC3S and FD3S RX-7s.
This “dream collaboration” aims to merge the world of the fastest public road racers with the leisurely pace of the healing anime characters.
In addition to the collaboration goods, the booth will also offer original Initial D merchandise.
Purchasers at the venue will receive an original sticker as a bonus gift.
