Nendoroids of Genshin Impact’s Xiao and Kaeya are still stuck in development

Good Smile Company has reaffirmed that Nendoroid figures of the Genshin Impact characters Kaeya and Xiao are still in development.
This confirmation came during the recent “NENDOROID FUNS” event that took place on June 12th, 2025, although no concrete progress beyond the initial announcement at Smile Fest 2022 was shown.

Genshin Impact, developed by HoYoVerse, is a popular open-world action RPG known for its vibrant characters, expansive world, and gacha-based system.
Nendoroids, produced by Good Smile Company, are a line of collectible figures known for their “chibi” or super-deformed style, interchangeable parts, and posability.
They are highly sought after by collectors and fans of various anime, manga, and video game series.
Despite the re-confirmation, the “NENDOROID FUNS” event offered no visual updates on the Kaeya and Xiao figures.
The segment dedicated to the characters only displayed the original HoYoVerse artwork, with no concept art or painted prototypes to showcase.
This lack of progress visuals suggests that the figures are still in the early stages of development.

The first Genshin Impact Nendoroids, featuring the player avatars Aether and Lumine, were released in 2021.
Following them, the Archon characters Venti and Zhongli (released in Japan in May 2025) were also produced and a Raiden Shogun Nendoroid is also set for release.

The pace of Genshin Impact Nendoroid releases has been significantly slower compared to figures from other HoYoVerse titles, indicating there is either an issue with licensing, or a divide between the developer and the figure manufacturer in terms of approval of the prototypes and finished products.
Nendoroids based on Honkai: Star Rail characters like March 7th, Dan Heng, and Aventurine have been released or announced more frequently.

Figures from the HoYoVerse game Zenless Zone Zero, featuring characters Wise, Belle, and Lycaon, are also planned for release in 2025 and 2026.

Fans of Kaeya and Xiao will however need to remain patient as they await further updates on the development of their Nendoroid figures.
