Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3’s First Trailer Shows Off New Characters and Battle Mechanics
Bandai Namco Entertainment has released the first major promotional trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, offering a closer look at the game’s new setting, characters, and battle systems.
The upcoming game is the latest entry in the Dragon Ball Xenoverse series, which lets players step into the Dragon Ball universe as their own character and fight to protect the history of the franchise’s world.
Arriving as the first new mainline installment in roughly 10 years, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 introduces a previously unseen future era known as AGE 1000.
This new period presents a fresh vision of the Dragon Ball world, filled with the distinctive characters and energy associated with Akira Toriyama’s original creation.
In AGE 1000, West City has continued to evolve, becoming a key location for the game’s new story.
Players will join a group known as the GS Squad, or Great Saiya Squad, and experience the events waiting for them in this futuristic version of West City alongside their allies.
The newly released trailer introduces members of the GS Squad, as well as several companions the protagonist encounters through everyday life at West City University.
Bulma also appears in the footage, still maintaining her youthful appearance even in this future timeline.
One of the major gameplay reveals in the trailer is Soul Change, a new battle action that allows players to fight while drawing on the power of legendary warriors from across Dragon Ball history.
The footage showcases combat scenes built around this new system, highlighting how the abilities of experienced fighters can become part of the player’s own battle style.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is currently planned for release in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
