Haikyu!! Teams Up With Steiff for Adorable New Shoyo Hinata Teddy Bear
A new premium collectible inspired by Haikyu!! has been unveiled through a collaboration with renowned German teddy bear manufacturer Steiff.
The special release transforms Shoyo Hinata into a handcrafted teddy bear, combining one of anime’s most energetic volleyball stars with one of the world’s most respected plush toy brands.
Created by Haruichi Furudate, Haikyu!! follows the journey of high school volleyball players striving to reach the top of the sport while overcoming personal and competitive challenges.
The series began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump and went on to become one of the most successful sports manga franchises of all time.
Its anime adaptation launched in 2014 and introduced audiences worldwide to the rivalry, teamwork, and determination that define Karasuno High School’s volleyball team.
In February 2024, “Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle” premiered in theaters and surpassed ¥20 billion at the global box office (approximately $136 million / £101 million).
The franchise is set to continue expanding in 2027 with the release of “Haikyu!! VS The Little Giant,” which will depict the long-awaited match between Karasuno High School and Kamomedai High School.
A separate special anime project titled “Haikyu!! Where Monsters Go” is also planned, focusing on the showdown between Fukurodani Academy and Mujinazaka High School.
Measuring about 28cm tall, the “Haikyu!! Steiff Collaboration Shoyo Hinata Teddy Bear” serves as a high-end commemorative item designed specifically for dedicated fans and collectors.
Steiff is widely recognized for its craftsmanship, and this release incorporates several signature elements associated with the historic brand.
Attached to the bear’s left ear is Steiff’s famous “Button in Ear” trademark, a hallmark used to authenticate genuine Steiff products.
Each bear also includes a tag displaying both its production year and an individual serial number.
A white tag with red lettering further identifies the teddy bear as a limited-edition Steiff release.
Mohair has been selected as the primary material, giving the bear a smooth texture and an elegant sheen that enhances its premium appearance.
The articulated arms and legs allow collectors to adjust the pose and display the bear in a variety of ways.
Hinata’s name and birthday are embroidered onto the soles of the bear’s feet as a tribute to the character.
The Karasuno High School volleyball uniform has been recreated using a soft and flexible polyester fabric designed to closely resemble the outfit seen in the series.
Because every teddy bear is assembled individually by skilled artisans, each one features slight variations in facial expression and character, ensuring no two examples are exactly alike.
Orders for the “Haikyu!! Steiff Collaboration Shoyo Hinata Teddy Bear” are being accepted exclusively through TOHO animation STORE ONLINE.
Shipping is scheduled to start from May 2027, with the teddy bear priced at ¥66,000 (approx. $450 USD/ £335 GBP).
