Kagurabachi Anime Unveils New Look at Its Sword-Wielding Protagonist Chihiro Rokuhira

The television anime adaptation of Kagurabachi is scheduled to begin broadcasting in April 2027, and a new promotional update has offered fans their first detailed look at the series’ central character.
A newly released character visual and promotional video focus on protagonist Chihiro Rokuhira, who is voiced by Taihi Kimura in the upcoming adaptation.

Based on the manga by Takeru Hokazono, Kagurabachi is a sword-fighting action series currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump and has surpassed 4 million copies in circulation when digital editions are included.
The anime is being directed by Tetsuya Takeuchi, while animation production is being handled by Cypic.

The story follows Chihiro Rokuhira, a young man who aspires to become a master swordsmith under the guidance of his father Kunishige, a renowned craftsman celebrated for his exceptional blades.
Their peaceful and joyful life together is shattered when a mysterious sorcerer group known as Hishaku launches a devastating attack.

During the tragedy, six enchanted swords possessing power great enough to influence the fate of an entire nation are taken, and the ordinary life Chihiro once knew is destroyed.
Left behind in a world consumed by violence and darkness, Chihiro embarks on a relentless quest for vengeance while wielding Enten, the seventh enchanted blade created by his father.

The newly unveiled character visual presents Chihiro as a determined warrior standing at the beginning of that bloody journey.
In the accompanying character trailer, he appears with an intense gaze that immediately conveys his unwavering resolve and hardened outlook.
One of the video’s most memorable moments features Chihiro declaring that he cannot allow people he considers scum to wield swords, a statement that reflects both his strong convictions and his willingness to bear the burden of his mission.
Clad in a dark cloak and accompanied by the mysterious black goldfish associated with his powers, Chihiro projects a calm yet intimidating presence throughout the footage.

The imagery presented in the trailer hints at the large-scale conflicts and dramatic battles that will define the series as it unfolds.
Kagurabachi is currently scheduled to premiere in April 2027, with additional information about the adaptation expected to be revealed in the future.
